It'd be tough to keep most USAPL teams out of a Top 50 ranking. You'd even be able to make a case for some non-playoff teams in USAPL (West) being in the top 50.

Absolutely. Based on the rankings this morning Hedgehogs, Longhorns, Woodys and Gamblers all fall outside "playoff" spots. I'd say those teams are all competitive with the teams in the 20-40 range. I give them more props, because they are the only 2 teams that have beaten us without running the ball more than us, so I'm not worried about the other losses, they don't hold much stock to me. And we did lose to the Benitos by 7 but they are a pretty strong team, but again they also had to run the ball more than us in order to beat us, if their play count was flipflopped the other way it could have been a different result.
And when I say run more, I don't mean just a few plays look at our other losses:
CAR - +49 runs on the box score (although obviously sacks are counted)
BA - +30 runs on the box score
SB - +13 runs only in box score (hence ONLY beat us by 7)
But for those first 2 above with the lopsided run count, that means nothing to me and isn't even worth mentioning as they don't deserve any props for beating us imo.
Welcome to season 8?

It's not a GP issue for us. We actually do GP, but we essentially GP to lose by using them as pure test games, and I'll never stop approaching it that way. So, if we had played some scrims (and I'm planning on doing 1 or 2 yet this ssn), we'd probably not even make the top 25 LOL
What I don't get is that not playing scrims actually seems to piss some ppl off. If someone doesn't want to rank us because of that, I couldn't care less, but I just don't get why it seems to bug some ppl so much that have absolutely nothing to do with GB.
BTW, I don't buy for a second that 90% of teams don't GP to win scrims...I'm sure there are many, but I'd bet that there are more that do try to win than don't. It's just soooooooooooooooooooo much cooler to pretend a team didn't.

Ya, it honestly does amaze me that they said we weren't even on some peoples ballots. I may be biased but ranking us anything lower than 25th is just flat out ignorant
.
Honestly I think some people just forgot about you, or when they put "MM" down on their list they were thinking Minnesota Marauders but ended up with Mean Machine.
The lists are all pretty out there right now, with all the great tourneys going on it will be much more clear as the weeks go on.

MM not being on some ballots is a bad joke. Between the rankings and honorable mentions, you could make a case for 20 pro teams being listed somewhere in that post. Hell, we'll have teams that won't make the POs this ssn that are better than some of those teams, IMO.

I hadn't noticed but that's a handful of VERY impressive scrimmage results (to include the 9-6 loss to WSI).

Eh, I game plan a little bit for scrimmages. No more then 30 minutes scouting, and 30 minutes in OAI modifications. If the scrim opponent needs more then that, oh well.
