Seriously, (non flame) what constitutes a good post? I've been posting since season 1 in GLB forums and cannot remember many good posts nor do I come here for that. It's dotball for chrissakes, just thinking of a bunch of 30+ year old men (myself included) taking their dots so srsly is pretty funny to me.

I'm just trying to inject a little positivity in this forum to offset the negativity coming from HHW (mainly) and others. Wait'l you see the the rankings come out and all the negativity injected in to them. Yea, the sim is lol, we know it, but I'm not going to hold my butt over it and feel sorry for myself. I'm tired of the nerfs period, they're ruining the game.

I think most people would rather have a discussion on balancing the game rather than read through Compton's pokemon threads and Csonka's Evil Cheerleader threads. You're not gonna please all the people all the time, some love shit talk threads some love thoughtful discussion, that's just the way it is. I do agree that the nerf talk gets to be a bit much at times but its not like making a bunch of threads about how CEC found a part in the game that gives them a big advantage adds very much to intelligent chatter in here either.

Everyone has their own taste and that's cool. Frankly, IMO, MEM made the USA Pro Forum about 100000000 times better when they came up. You guys balanced the seriousness in an important way. Now it's swung too far the other way, IMO. Outside of rankings and the every so exciting "GG ________" thread, just about everything else is some form of shit...Shit posts are great, but not when they make up the vast magority of all the threads, just like it sucked when nothing but serious threads sucked all the life and fun out of the forums the ssn before MEM arrived. I understand, but I'd rather see pro-Csonka threads than anti-Csonka threads and the negative threads were piling up quick. I enjoy serious posts, rankings, funny posts, GG posts, even an occasional troll thread, but the "nerf this, nerf that" threads in bunches annoy me. Especially when we're only 1/3 into the season. Rather than grow tackling, strength, confidence, better your tactics, it's just easier to complain. OTR, Duff's team (in a scrimmage) & South Bay have held Csonka in check, those teams can tackle.

Even talk about how to fix the game is depressing. You read through about 20 well thought out posts that would make things better, and you have zero confidence that any of them will ever be implemented.

There are a multitude of people from US Pro that Bort could hire on a consultant TODAY, that would immediately make GLB better.

And most of the suggestions have to do with common business sense and nothing to do with the sim/nerfs.

It seems like the only one who doesn't know how to improve GLB as a business (and make it more enjoyable for more of it's customers) is Bort.

The blocking schemes are awful in this game and there will always be problems unless they're addressed. I have 10 years coaching experience at the college and Texas HS level and I offered in the bugs forum to help out with schemes but never heard back.

I think the gang tackling is pretty shit atm, too, but otherwise I agree.

Powerbacks should not squirt through 5 defenders to fall down for an extra 4+ yards. I think the sim needs primary and secondary tacklers, where the secondary tacklers just add +Tackle to the primary guy.

I'm so confused. Bort says he's changed nothing since 2/20. So, how did these issues get fixed after that? I refuse to believe that Bort would even be less than honest.

Pulling the backside guard on a sweep in not a terrible idea (most sweeps were blocked that way prior to the early 90's), but you have to sync/timing the backfield motion with the play design so that the Guard can get out in front. My current favorites (sarcasm) are the pitches to the FB out of the I form. I don't have an issue so much with the Guard not recognizing the SS, some blitzes need to go unnoticed, they can't all be picked up.
