Power backs don't need to get nerfed.

Energy over XX carries does (I'd say 40 since that is 10 over what I would think of as "reality")

Exactly right. Powerbacks have already been nerfed this season. Broken tackles are slightly down and arm tackling is making an impact. DTs have improved this season as opposed to the end of last. The smart teams put some in tackling/strength with their boosts instead of expecting a bailout and exploiting speed like most of you have all the way up to the Pros. Lincoln will never be dramatically affected by a nerf because we build balanced football players instead of attempting to exploit the changes in the sim every season (ie: Harper).

+ 1, power backs are averaging fewer yards YPC this season and the numbers back that up (non troll). I've spent a lot of SP's in tackling and strength since we played Lincoln last season, so my investment is now a waste due to cry babies? Running back stamina tied to carries deserves a serious investigation, but I don't want to see p backs nerfed because I've already adjusted my build.

Coach, your SS has already missed 3 tackles in 16 tries this season, this is after missing only 2 in 57 tries last season. I hope this is not the adjustment you are talking about.

tackle settings are partly responsible and we've faced way more p backs (OTR, Spicewood, SBS) this season than last. Lincoln was the only team we faced with dominate p backs last season in USA West. Larry Smith is more of a combo back.

Its been almost a season and half since power backs got their 'boost'. At this point if you haven't gotten your team to the point where at least the LBs and safeties can tackle power backs, you have noone but yourself to blame.

Running in general got another 'boost' with the increased pancakes this season which probably does need to go away, but if you have LBs who aren't at least approaching the second caps for strength and tackling they have been spending their points in the wrong places and so it wasn't going to matter if they got off those blocks...and those of us who did make those long-term adjustments shouldn't now be punished by making speed defenders the uber-players again.

Missed tackles aren't really the problem for those of us who adjusted (our teams will still miss some, but not over and over). Its the whole moving through occupied spaces that is still causing a problem, and this is where the focus should be. If you want your team to tackle well, there is no better time to start working on it than the present...last season we had the excuse that it didn't become obvious until after most players had boosted...not any more.

We will see if this is the truth when MEM plays MM. I have been a supporter of higher tackling and strength for 3 seasons now. If Csonka runs through us like nothing, then it is still a problem.

Lets hope this is true...our inside runner broke 13 tackles on 32 carries against them...though like 5 of them were on this spectacular run (note the spin move at one point):

So they tackle very well against a combo back, but combo HBs are by their very nature not likely to exploit anything broken in the sim to begin with...they are also less affected by nerfs.

My guess is that they really didn't know what they were up against with Jeezus. Minnesota started off slow last year and then tightened everything up defensively and suffocated offenses. 13 broken tackles on 32 carries isn't exactly running over people left and right, especially when 5 came on one play (that was probably boosted by motivational speaker or something of the like).

I agree, but if a combo back is going to average a broken tackle every other carry or so, that may mean that a real power back is going to average one every carry even against a good tackling team, which is just silly. But from the numbers that seems to be about where we are at...

Run defenses in this league are worlds better than the other pro leagues, too...its gets even uglier elsewhere...

yea, but if power backs are nerfed that makes MM dumb. That's why I don't want to see them nerfed because it punishes teams that have adapted. I can understand investigating the stamina/broken tackles/carry equation, but not nerfing power.

We like to lose early so we fall under the radar. Oh shit I just told everyone our secret plans.
