to be fair, those specific ideas had already been suggested countless times before by hordes of people... although bort never saw them because he wasn't about to plow through 150+ pages of tripe before he weighed in.

FUCK. This pisses me off to no end. If I had testing abilities, you bet your ass I would find any advantage I could and share it with my team. What makes it even more gay is that they tried to keep it secret from the GLB public, and when their shit got called out, Bort's lackeys tried to convince everyone there is no advantage to be gained. Yeah, and steroids don't help you hit a baseball farther.

If there isn't a satisfactory resolution to all this, I'm going to retire my two new players as a 'fuck you' to Bort.

Doing good, just life>GLB lately, especially with the time it takes to be a good team these days. Dropped a couple of games we shouldn't have last season because we just simply didn't have the time to gameplan. Hopefully if or when we get up here, it won't consist of getting dominated every other day

not a tester, and duff's solution just gives Bort a pass on his Screw up. Only reason we dont have the results is because someone purposely deleted them. Why the hell run tests if you dont keep the data to look over.

I wouldnt be surprised if certain tests were run and bort noticed people were taking advantage of it.

GLB isn't Madden there's no fast twitch coordination or skill involved. On the agent's side it's just a problem solving game where information is king, we discover things about the algo and build accordingly. Suddenly a handful of people have been given the keys to the castle, pretty much unlimited information. I'm sorry but there's really no mulligan for this one.

While I agree that the testers didn't really do anything wrong, I still want to know who they were. What if it was the guy that knocked you out of the playoffs? All season 7 championships have a big asterisk by them until we know who the testers were. I'm certainly not accusing any one here of being a tester, but how do we know you're not?

I think Bort has the right idea by bringing in testers...but they absolutely cannot be allowed to play the real game with the rest of us. The fact that they can try out any build whenever they want is just such a massive advantage over non-testers. We have to invest a lot of time and money into finding out what works and what doesn't. They're handed the keys to discovering the perfect build. This sucks.

I think Bort has been making steps in the right direction when it comes to becoming a game development company...but his inexperience really shows. I think the real question is going to become...when does someone backup a truck full of money in Bort's driveway and buy GLB?

I know this won't change anyone's mind but I don't think any of us try to find the "perfect" build for anything. It is more a case of trying to find imbalances in the game, Like if we get a DT to 100 speed 100 agility does it really screw with the programming in an unexpected way? If we get a LB to 100 strength with a bunch of FF SAs does he ever force fumbles and if not then bort considers adjusting that or even adding new SAs to balance out the game. Those are basic examples, but that is the sort of thing we are doing. As bort said all of the people there are people he trusts (except apparently he trusted 1 person he shouldn't have). There are 35 testers. 5 admins, 15 mods, 15 non-mod users who have all demonstrated, as bort has said, that they are more worried about the game getting better than their own teams getting better. Not everyone has really done a lot of testing because we have to set up teams before we can test and if you have ever tried to set up a team it takes a LONG time and a lot of the mods and some of the non mod users as well have been really slow in getting that done. I feel like I know very little more than I did before as just a mod. Certainly I never knew anything that gave any teams I am on an advantage. Could some of the other testers have used the info for their own advantage. I would hope they wouldn't but I guess it's possible, although the guys who are the most active on there really are concerned about the game. Some of them who do not do tactics for any team spend a lot of time trying to find bugs in the D-play creator by systematically testing different blitzes and zones to make sure you get a great product when it becomes active in a few days (i.e no Madden style nano blitzes) and many of them are disappointed that their work has been so poorly received. Saris, I promise you 100% that you know maybe twice as much as me about making players.

If you think about it, they don't have a true advantage at all, unless they know opponents build. Unless I'm really mistaken, they either set up 1 team in various way and test it or they set up the team they are playing vs another team they made. Either way, it's quite silly if you think about it. You get to know how d-creator works, that's for sure, but not really useful for builds. You just won't know what you are going against in here, so you must guess how it'd work either way, doesn't matter if you tested it there or not.

Also, you'll probably set players the way your players are designed, changed a few things, but you never really know how different defense (your opponents settings/builds) are going to respond to the changes you made in this 'test server'. It'd indeed be deadly if you could test your guy without many different builds against your real opponents, but that's not happening. Now that I thought about it, I don't think ppl have a lot of advantage at all.
