USA BBB leagues aren't really beginners leagues. Bort is trying to make everyone believe that and making revisions to force the structure into that, but that hasn't been the case.
USA BBB has been around since season 2 which I 'think' is longer than any other regions A leagues, much less BBB leagues. In fact, longer than the entire African region. For the first 3 seasons only one team was promoted so the competition left behind was pretty fierce. In fact, only in the last two seasons when the promotion system was revised because it couldn't keep up with the sold teams has the competition in the BBB leagues loosened up. Take, for instance,

all these teams were promoted from BBB 13 Western Conference last season, not out of the league, out of the western conference alone. I'm sure the east went through the same thing but I didn't know the teams and didn't want to take the time to look them up. If you look over there rosters, they would have easily been competitive with the best teams in the conference this season. My point is simply that only now is the talent dropping off where there is such a huge disparity between the top and bottom. If it happens again this season, if the top 4 get promoted, look around at what's going to be left, if you're not one of the 4, you'll probably be head and shoulders above the rest. Anyway, that's my story, like I said maybe you knew some of the history, maybe not, hopefully it wasn't a complete waste of time.
The reason Fresno is here is because when it was relegation time, we had about 10 players committed to the team and no idea where to get the others. It wasn't a matter of money as I'm sure you'll find out, you can offer a level 40 player max salary and max bonus but unless you're in pro or aaa league most of them are hard to convince to come to your team. Some other reasons were that it had been 2 seasons since I had done anything with the AI, I wasn't sure how much had changed, and our fan support was terrible. I didn't want to end up going with 0-16 because our AI was trash and I was forced to sign a bunch of level 20's because I failed to recruit a team in the few days between seasons.
edit: I'm not saying you're wrong, that the people bragging are right, or anything of the sort. I agree it's neither particularly fun, nor noteworthy to beat a team your 10 levels higher than by 100 points. The reason I'm here is that I didn't want to be on the other end of that and end up back in BBB 13 in season 8. I just wanted to share a little bit of what was going through my mind so maybe you can get an idea of things from our, or at least my perspective.
