A few years ago I spent a week driving around Belgium going to all the local breweries. Words don't even describe the awesomeness. I also stayed a night at the Chimay hotel. In the restaurant they have the blue priced like champagne or wine, by the year. I think the most expensive bottle was about $200 US.

i have been on a dark beer kick lately. beers include:

avery the czar (imperial russian stout)
deschutes the abyss (also imperial russian stout, #2 on beer advocates top beers list http://beeradvocate.com/top_beers )
alaskan smoked porter
deschutes black butte porter
red hook double black coffee stout

i am hoping to see russian rivers pliny the younger on my trip to san francisco this weekend. i'm going to hit up the double IPA festival on saturday and hope its there.

Link is bad (you have the open end of the parentheses in it). I have wanted to try Pliny the Younger, but haven't been able to find it anywhere ... I actually don't think I've ever tried an imperial IPA yet

yeah pliny the younger came out on 2.2.09 and is not being bottle at all. the people on BA are going nuts for it too. going to RR and getting $30/$36 growlers. definitely alot of buzz about it. fingers crossed that its at toronado on friday.
