What do you guys think about card voting to turn into a union shop?

They do not have to vote just carry a card. Its not passed, but they are pushing it infront of Obmam already.

I myself don't like either the right to work or the no vote union crap. We had a meeting about it at work because some of our company is union and others are not. Apparently all they have to do is talk to you and their in. Even if they are sneaking in the door I want no parts of being in the union and won't join. It sucks and my company bennies are better than the jackasses that swear by the union. We have had some funny discussions about that with a few.

What company do you work for? If you don't mind.

No, we don't get into that end. The closet we come is metal standing seam roofing.

I think the mentality is fine. You've agreed to exchange your labor for a monetary amount. Completely voluntary.

My health insurance works fine...150 deductible per incident up to $500 then it pays everything. $3000 usually is for an entire family.

That's what I was referring too, family insurance. I wouldn't have a problem with paying individual employee insurance. But I would prefer to just increase their salary so they get the tax benefit.

Why not, why wouldn't you be responsible? Aren't they responsible for you? If they work for you, don't they represent you to an extent?

No, they are not responsible for me. If I hired them then I believe they are going to do a good job. If they purposely screw up the job or are just plain incompetent then I'm letting them go. They know the standards that I require of them.

Here's a philosophy that I went by when I was working for another in this line of work: "It is my job to keep you in business."

Make sense?

Apparently you live in a one light town from the sound of it, so isn't everything tied together?

Don't even have a light, lol.

You couldn't buy a garage here for that $49,000, that's not a dig,

My grandparents were Jewish. Heh. The house is actually two stories and approximately 2000 square feet.

but in that situation how would you pay someone 50% more money when you could have tax breaks for providing them health care?

Why would I want to profit from what they've mixed with their labor?
