"A very common, almost defining feature of satire is its strong vein of irony or sarcasm"

I know that Wikipedia is about as accurate as dictionary.com but it is the easiest to grab quickly.

Sarcasm is a form of humor. Hence this cannot be sarcasm because it is not funny.

From the link you posted
Although satire is usually meant to be funny, the purpose of satire is not primarily humour in itself so much as an attack on something of which the author strongly disapproves, using the weapon of wit.

...........................

Edit: Also, when it says "a very common, almost defining feature of satire is its strong vein of irony or sarcasm," that would imply that satire is a subset of sarcasm, not "Sarcasm is a subset of satire which is a type of comedy." Satire cannot exist without sarcasm but sarcasm can obviously exist without satire. Most people find semantics annoying but I love it! Ask RT.

Sarcasm is not a type of comedy. In literature sarcasm is a subset of satire. Satire is a type of comedy.

Dude, you're pulling stuff out of your ass now. A Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain was a satire of the Middle Ages that utilized sarcasm (thus making it a "satire"). Sarcasm did not utilize satire. How, even within the context of literature (a detail you failed to mention in your original post, but I'm sure that was a simple oversight ), is sarcasm a subset of satire.

I will connect all of the dots for you.

Satire is a type of comedy.

Sarcasm is a tool in satire to create said comedy.

Post was suppose to be sarcasm.

A player from my team posted as if it was serious.

I responded with an equally unfunny post under the same genre (sardonic, anther tool to create humor in a satire).

You took it seriously, just like the player from my team.

I find that ironic.

Good luck the rest of the season. Hopefully, we do not see you in the playoffs.

I'll do you the same courtesy.

Sarcasm can be a form of humor. Nowhere does it say that it is necessary that sarcasm has to be "funny." Your own link pointed that out. I asked you to clarify what you meant by posting a definition of what sarcasm and satire really meant.

You took the liberty of trying to prove me wrong which indicates that you sincerely meant what you said.

Good luck the rest of the reason to you as well.

P.S. Sardonic is an adjective
