deflections are not better than interceptions, if you really want to go that route you would prefer to have 0's in PD, INT, Tackles, they you really are a shutdown CB.

I personally think your build is stupid, you should be softcapping atts one by one instead of going all over the place.

Talk about a shutdown corner...

bet he didnt give up a catch on those, eh

lol we didn't have our AI fully set neither, and we still don't right now..there's still a lot to be worked out..just so happens that our talent took over in that game..if you look at our players we were underleveled at almost every position with the exception of 5..and the QB and DE we have thate are lvl 28's just now were added. Me personally I would have thrown the ball a lot more than we did had we not been up by so much after the first quarter.

Where can you get a tool to compute these numbers? I'm trying to decide if shutdown or supervision is more important. One of my CB's has 10 SV, the other 10 shutdown. I'd love to have an analysis done.

That's WAYYYY too inaccurate to be posted. That does not include every time the CB got beat for a TD or had to have someone else tackle the WR for him. A speedster with low Agi and vision like your CB could easily have gotten so off target due to a quick route cut or a fake that someone else needed to tackle for him. This also doesn't include double coverage, which some teams use a lot of. Posting those raw numbers could be misleading at best.

BTW, (one of) my CB has 22 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 32 PDs, and 3 Ints. He also has 1 sack and some of his tackles are from the run game. I consider him a shutdown corner at lvl 17 in a league that has a starters level about 4 levels higher, and he will only be getting better. I built him much more similarly to those that you are arguing against.

A good shutdown corner has at least 2x PDs than tackles. Ints are irrelevant. A shutdown corner's job is to shut down the WR, not steal balls thrown to him. Ints are just a really good bonus.

stats mean nothing in this game. Except how many times you played weakling/gutted teams.

Seriously, 80% of games in GLB these days are blowouts so stop measuring things statistically.

i love when people dont read everything. I said when I posted it originally that it was in no way completely accurate and that I was too lazy to do the research for the "real stats". Those were just rough figures to give you an idea of how the corners were doing. Yeah I know the whole "stats mean nothing for a corner" argument but I am just posting for fun so read it and enjoy or find another thread to troll.

This is part of why I posted what I did originally. I went from having almost a 2:1 tackle to PD ratio to almost 1:2 by putting my boost points into jumping and only jumping. People can criticize my post all they want but I saw major results with what I did. For all agility is made out to be mine isnt quite at the soft cap yet but my CB is having a very solid year.

He is probably one of the best CB's in the game....He's having a rough season this season, but I think that it's partly because the entire defense has sucked all season

Alright I have been reading through a lot of these posts and have come to the conclusion that a lot of you are building to be average. Thats not a bad thing but that wont land you a starting role on a good team. One thing I noticed is that people focus way too much on tackling as a CB. All goes well you shouldnt have to make many tackles. Heres my take on a CB(Hes currently level 20).

1) Speed - if you cant keep up with your target how do you expect to stop him? I took mine to 68 asap.
2) Vision - all around underrated skill until the recent changes on the line of scrimmage. I think vision plays a big part in deflections/interceptions. Mine is mid 30's atm.
3) Jumping - big skill for deflections. Noticed a big increase in deflected passes when I raised my jumping stat to 30+.
4) Agility - aim for the soft cap but mine is around 42 at 20.
5) Stamina - If you want to be a great shutdown corner you need to be able to stay on the field. My CB has 33 stamina and can stay on the field for 75.6 plays/g. Leads the team in that regard.
6) Tackling - Tackles only need to be made when you let up a completion or are chasing down a RB on a pitch play. My CB has 30 tackling and only gives up 1 miss a game tops.
7) Catching - Interceptions are wonderful but having 10 deflections in a game is better than having 1 interception. Working on getting my catching to 35 then I will probably hold off for awhile.
8) Confidence - While many people have been talking up this stat recently my CB is fine with only 20

edit: forgot SA's...
SA's at 20:
1 across the board in the shutdown tree and also have my CE bonus in the shutdown line, so 2 across the board
1 in First Step
1 in Change Direction

Thats it.

These are only my suggestions and you can feel free not to use them but from my experience it works. I am currently starting 2 CBs that I plan on using my plan with for a slow build team and expect them to dominate much as my lvl 20 has in his league.

Season 5 stats:
16 games 73 tackles 1 INT 19 PD
(Was second on team in tackles)

Season 6 stats:
(put lots of points in jumping for this season, rest of stats are similar)
5 games 18 tackles 25 PDs

Comment/bash away.

Your build sucks ass hole

No....but because it is my player I watch the pbp and he has come up with huge INT's.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=83977&pbp_id=1167578 (Game winning INT return for a TD...1st game with new team)
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=83977&pbp_id=1167714 (INT with 1 minute to go in the endzone...to preserve the game winning INT from above)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=210391&pbp_id=415571

There are many more highlights...and yes while some on his INT's came in blowout games....most of them came against quality opponents...

He played the first 3 seasons in Southeast Asia Pro, 2 seasons in USA AAA#2 and this season in USA Pro....so he's done all this in quality leagues....

Thats why I think he's one of the best....not thee best....
