The way we did it in another league, people nominated players for each position, and could nominate two (total) from their own team. Then we voted on the nominees, but couldn't vote for our own players in the final vote. I'm not a part of this. But I thought I'd throw that suggestion out there for your consideration.

Man, not like you didnt dictate to us when you were here, now we got ghosts from seasons past, chanting in our ears...

I hope you don't mind me posting so much here. I'm not too fond of the A#4 forum. Sportsmanship is in short supply there. You guys rock. I've got nothing but love for you all.

Seeing as how his team is relatively inactive in the team forum, any chance QB Greene can nominate himself to the Pro Bowl provided his stats warrant it? Either that or someone for the love of God convince the team owner to make a trade for him so he can go to an active team who shows some signs of caring. ( apologies for the rant but I want an owner who puts in as much time as a player agent does ).

Nobody is allowed to vote outside of owners. Nobody is allowed to vote for players on their own team.

So no, you can't. You can stump for yourself here though, I suppose.

A Pro Bowl selection is always nice as the respect of owners is a great thing. However, being a part of a collective team is what I truly value and am not getting that right now. His stats are good but they mean nothing if not appreciated.

The way I had always understood the rules for All-Star ballots (as in, the way it has been told to me in the past) is:

1) You can only vote for your own conference
2) You can not nominate someone from your own team

They're not set in stone, so I don't have a problem changing them if that's what you guys want to do. This is a lot more than just my All-Star team proceedings, it's the 007's. Although, I am personally in favor of keeping #1, as it would make it easier on me to sort ballots by conference. And yes, per you guys' suggestions, at playoff time, I'll put the ballot into a new thread.

I for one don't know any individual players. It distracts from the point of being a coordinator if you ask me. I know team tendencies, I know plays, I know strengths and weaknesses, but I don't pay one bit of attention to players NOT on my team, either side of the ball. Right now I'd vote 2 D players from my team to the pro bowl, were that an option. I also don't pay attention to our O players, but I'm sure some of them deserve attention.

And if it was up to me I would nominate ciainstruments player(s) for the pro bowl on behalf of the Cleveland Buckeyes. Congrats buddy.

/I voted Bob Barr for President

I think teams shouldn't be allowed to vote for their own players, don't see a reason why they should really.

This Pro Bowl thing is just for fun and the Houston Armageddon will keep voting for players from other teams.

However, we shouldn't list players as unanimously chosen as if it was something great. In essence, the only thing it means is that the team the player in question belongs to haven't voted.

I'm all for debating, but I think those two rules SHOULD be set in stone. I admit I dont pay too much attention to East, and would short the great players there. And I'd nominate every player from my own team, if allowed. those two rules preclude that stuff.

The idea behind being able to nominate players from your own team is to bring players to everyone's attention that may get overlooked otherwise. For instance. Say you have a LB that has 80 tackles, 8 sacks, 5 INTs, 3 FF. All of those stats might be low enough that they don't make it onto any of the league leader lists and get overlooked, because no one has time to look at every player on every team. But overall, they have a great resume when you look at their total body of work.

is'nt it a bit early for pro bowl since we are only 6 games into the season?

No, it's not too early to get people thinking about it. We have been getting maybe 6-7 ballots total out of 32 teams. I figure if I beat people over the head with it, we might get some more people remembering to do it.

Good point, Jack. Maybe if you pay us....

an easy way to filter thru stats for diff. positions to find out your probowl winner is to skim thru the search feature up there and changing your filter to BBB7..

comes in handy.. especially when you're lookin' for FB stats and such..

also.. pancakes isn't an attractive stat.. but i do consider those when pickin' HBs FBs and TEs..

use the gamelog button on player profiles to compare n' contrast

^ lol..

i shoulda elaborated that it isn't an attractive stat because it doesnt jump out at you when lookin at a player.. unless it's a lineman.. TEs and FBs dont show that pancake stat but it sure defines a player
