The point is there is no guide for building a good CB around. I am helping out new players by giving them a simple guide to follow.

1) Take Agility to 48
2) Speed -> 48
3) Vision -> 48
4) First Step & Change Direction to 2, Super Vision & Shutdown Coverage to 4
5) Stamina -> 30
6) Jumping -> 48
7) SV -> 6
8) Agility -> 60
9) SV -> 8
10) Speed -> 60, redistribute equipment to keep Speed around 80, rest going into Agility
11) SV -> 10, SC -> 6
12) whatever else you want to do, you'll be lvl 35-40 by this point, and an awesome CB most of the way.

Use Training to work on stats that you're not dumping points into, but also Tackling, Strength, Catching & Confidence. A good goal would be Tackling/Strength/Catching all min 25 and Confidence min 20 by lvl 25.

All SAs are natural/base values BTW, so don't count the +1 from custom.

I would say do the first 4 in the order you give...but after that it doesnt seem to really matter which way you go. Some like to 2ndsoftcap agility, others are gonna go high jumping, whatever...Makes sense to get to the second softcap of agility and speed before you go deeper into the SAs though...

You could switch later steps around if you really wanted, but that's the order I reccomend. Steps 7/8 should be around the mid-late 20s, and IMO 4 SV simply isn't enough then. It's an outline on how the build to be good at all times (except the 1st season when you have lots of agility and no speed, but lol D-leagues, who cares), hence getting that little bit of SV before going into the boring black hole of bringing stats up to the 2nd cap.

I get not spending SP on a skill you are training, i.e. SPEED at Level 2. What I do not get is holding SP's in reserve on a skill not being trained, one that is already soft-capped or one that is 2nd soft-capped.

If SPEED is 47.03 and you level, it becomes 47.36 [or whatever]. It then takes 1 SP to raise it to 48.36 and then is considered soft-capped.

If SPEED is 47.03 and you put 1 SP in it, it becomes 48.03 and leveling makes it 48.36, where it is considered soft-capped.

==

I am lost as to the benefit of holding back SP's once the build is going and the attribute is not being trained.

so you get more out of training, training speed when its only at 20 is gonna have a lot greater benifit than training speed when its at 40.
