I know EE Pro and the movements and history up here pretty well, but other than that, I dont even look at other leagues until the playoffs. Im also one of those people who only watches basketball during the Sweet 16 and playoffs, if then

UFA just beat St Pete (last years losers to us in the title game...who we beat in OT in regular season) 35-34 in AAA2 so me putting them as potential promoters looks solid.

I will not promote without a trophy, and my willingness to try for the trophy depends on who else is moving up.

It would be balls to get to Pro without a few trophies in the cabinet. I don't speak for Derek but I imagine he wouldn't be too fond of a league change for Krakow in the off season... cheapens the regular season success that we've had. Its a tired opinion but a more permanent solution to poor Pro Leagues would be better than 'musical leagues' between seasons. What that solution is... fucked if I know, Borts a millionaire, maybe he does? lol

Yeah I see at least 5 teams coming up to Zeta, Im going to attempt to flag all EE Pro teams as the following:

-Very Competitive
-Competitive
-Average
-Not Competitive
-Gutted/Cupcake

I think if we could organize the league into those 5 categories, then we as a league could submit that to the admins to assist with our reorganization.

I really believe that teams in the bottom two categories need to go, if you are losing games by over 20 or 30 each game, there is no reason for you to be in EE Pro, particularly because you get to beat up on cupcakes, so if you are in the "not competitive" category this season, when at least 5 new stronger teams come up, you will be in the cupcake category, so its better that we just do it all at once and get rid of anyone who isnt near .500 as it stands. That doesnt mean dropped to the bottom, that just means down to AAA or AA or something, there are 3 gutted teams in Zeta and they all get to be dropped down to A.

Thats what Id say, if you cant make .500 with a lot of weak teams, you should be demoted, because next season you are going to be a punching bag. If Zeta doesnt gut ... which I am more optimistic that Prague wont quit .. though Im not sure yet .. I have promises from my team to stick out this season and nothing more, then Zeta might be really strong. Depending on how all this reorganization works, Ill talk to my team and see I guess.

But certainly it will be more competitive and interesting next season, its a little late in coming, but what can you do, at least its coming. Finally Bort saw the bankroll decreasing and HAD to do something, so he finally did.

Ill help Flag detroit as a cupcake.

I'm not fond of flagging people to move up. I think it should be their choice if it is a move. Again, without a stadium completed you are screwed financially here. Teams that struggle for level 24 equipment will be crushed trying to get level 32 equipment. By level 40 equipment they will throw their hands up in disgust. Also to work for a trophy in the league you are in and just get moved before obtaining your goal would flat out suck. I'd prefer static leagues, I enjoied the rivalries I had in EE AAA.

Teams that "think" they will be prepared for level 40 will be screwed here if they have a 6-10 season against decent squads that includes any type of losing streak IMO.

Detroit is a perfect example. Even going 39-9 wasn't good enough for solid money over 3 years. If we promote earlier than last year, we would have been utterly fucked for 32 equip. Only way we got to really cover it was four playoff home games which was ~35 mill cash wise. If you promote teams that didn't earn that cash for stadium and equip...you're setting them up for failure.

As much as we "failed" in the playoffs, I'm happy we didn't promote until we had the 1 seed all the way thru or we'd be fucked right now. We'll be able to cover 40 equip as well assuming we get the home games again with maxed support and one section away from a max stadium.

I don't even have to have a home playoff game to cover level 40 equipment, but I was lucky in EE AAA with constant home playoff games. **Shout out to the Vacationers for season 2 ** However this is what I'm getting at with just randomly promoting teams up here that could compete, but honestly aren't going to take homefield through the playoffs. Maybe the top 2-4 teams here need to go to another Pro league, then move up some EE AAA teams. It was competitive in EE AAA for homefield every season. I'm grateful that Helsinki beat us in the conference championship in season 2 or we would have been the team that disbanded instead of them. It really isn't fun to have good players, but be unable to afford their equipment and give them a deserving salary. No amount of revenue sharing is going to take away the advantage that teams who have consistently had home games the last 3+ seasons have in equipment and recruiting. I don't really recruit, except on occasion. If someone wants to leave I'll find a replacement, but otherwise I go to war with what got us here. These guys took less early to get us a stadium and deserve the fruits of their labor now.

There are some teams that are prepared financially to move up that had multiple home games from their AA days, but the ones that didn't in higher leagues, while great teams, are at a monetary disadvantage that is about to really become evident in the seasons to come

Well it depends on support, obviously. One or two AA teams that promoted will have the support as they were able to rally of the wins to promote but the EE AAA teams going 12-4 or whatever ever year don't get that boost to their support needed. Which is kinda sad, actually. But that's a separate issue. I said in S2 support is fucked and it is.

It needs a reform but I'll leave that rant for later.

I think that financial bs is what turned Royce away most of all (although I haven't had a sitdown with him to verify and many real life things played in as well)...Sadly, I am at fault for being a sucky player, as at the time in season 3 when we had an equipment pow-wow my only stake in this game was Fructose-one player. I remember being vocal about the necessity of equipment in order to stay competitive...Didn't "get it"...I get it now...and am sorely disappointed in my attitude prior. We didn't get any home playoff games in either season 3, 4 or 5, but won quite a bit...as a result of our boosting late and solid build strategy...and that was that...It went from enjoyable game to pressure cooker...Terrible. We're still homeys though.

There's a reason why the original final fantasy, which had you hack and slash for 10 hours to buy a stinkin' sword in the land of the elves killin ogres, progressed on to a game where money become a lesser evil in later editions.
