High speed, high agility, high shed block. Decent strength if you can help it.

Hey Rod

Another question, if you're still reading this. You said you prefered the 4:3 ratio over the 3:2 ratio.

What type of plays do you see your LB's making when they have a 80/60 speed/agility that they don't make with a 85/55 ratio? And how about the reverse?

The hardest part of this task is to find a DC that knows how to blitz LBers to get to the QB. You can have the biggest, baddest, most well built LBer in the history of GLB but if you don't have the Defensive Coordinator that puts him in a position to get to the QB you will never get a sack.

It's as simple as that.

I play in a lower league than you... I don't have the Bucks to buy my Boosts... but I do disagree w/ some of it.

Heres examples of my LB catching and taking Down RB that are better than me

Your LBs are Safeties... I can't believe that w/ that Low strength that your not getting beat up by Combo and Power Backs.

I have less than a 3:2 Speed to Agility and have soft-capped strength a while ago... and my guy is doing great

4:3 ratio really applies more to lower levels because when you get that high you are almost splitting hairs to see what is marginally better. 80/60 or 85/55 is a demon whichever way you go.

I flicked my AI this season to get sack production up higher to prove a point and I have a LB on my own team (not my player but I directed much of his build the last 2 seasons) with 7 sacks and my own personal MLB has 5. Each through 5 games.

My TFLs and sacks have been up the last 2 seasons. TFLs up really high. I'm getting to the point of attack before some of the Defensive Line.

Well you play in a level-appropriate league regardless. You better believe that my guys aren't getting beat up by power backs, in fact they make bigger plays more often on them then other linebackers.

Congrats on your LB doing ok but you still aren't getting FF, PD, Sacks, Ints, and TFL numbers like my guys. Not even in the same stratosphere and I am playing against much better competition. What is really to disagree with at this point. . . seriously.

The last guy to try to poke holes in this said I wasn't getting any sacks with my guys. That is all he could come up with. So I fixed my AI so that he was blitzing more than 0% of the time, and now he is a pass rush monster on top of everything else.

Rod Long. I need your guidance. Is speed still the best for an ILB? Mine needs help. ;;

Rod Long is now my arch nemesis and maybe I can make my LOLB 3/4's as good as his (will be happy w/ that)

Plus, I'm a team player. I'd rather give glory to my main man, our SS, Peregrine West, like these plays :

We got the lateral system down pat

You got to think thats something wrong w/ the system when LBs that have the strength of common CBs... (infact it sounds like your LBs are just CBs w/ a little extra Tackling and less Catching/Jumping) are making plays against RBs with 40 to 50 in the strength field. In reality, 2 of those LBs would be crashed and maybe the 3rd one would trip up such an RB. Glad u found a flaw in the system and exploited it...
This is why I don't spend my money on this.

Hey Rod

Another question, the Galaxy Aces MLB has 82 speed but only 31 agility. 34 tackles 3 TFL. 40 strength and 50 tackling.

Do you see any weaknesses in that build? What type of plays can you LB make that his can't? and vice versa? that's a 2.5:1 ratio, much more than 3:2 or 4:3.

Just your opinion of course since you don't watch all their games.

Plus maybe I just put more value on building a more balanced MLB than him. I have at least another 40 points than that MLB in blocking/jumping/catching/confidence combined on top of what he has. And I've never put a point in those categories. Just trained completely efficiently.

Plus since you don't have a 'First Step' SA with LBs, don't you really need to have the agility for acceleration? If I was seeing that many hurries versus sacks then I might have fed agility moreso, IMO Not sure but I think his strategy is more systemic through all of his GLB builds rather than actually breaking down LB play and giving organic feedback and coming up with a build theory . . .but I really don't follow the GLB personalities all that much.

I was wondering about how you train what is the best method for a completely efficient training method. Should I use normal or intense work on what I need most or what is the best % on what I need?
