Simple fact is: Bort gave them the option to choose if they want to go to WL or stay in APL.
Than, when given the option, about a hand full of owners said no to WL - and Bort reacts by telling people Africa wussed out
If he wants runner ups to get promoted, when the Champs gut, he shouldn't give them an option.
If he gives them the option, he should bear consequences.
And more than that - he shouldn't dis his paying customers, who have nothing to do with it other than being in APL

You know, I am in the APL, and I have no clue as to the real story here. However, when the developer of the game gets in the forums and blasts his customer base it tells me something about him. Bort lacks professionalism. That was a pretty douchebaggy move.

I don't really see it as blasting when he's just informing us of something that actually happened. Apparently the top teams in APL wussed out (true), so APL pretty much wussed out (true).

There are plenty of reasons to decline without it beint "wussing out." It was a chicken shit move by a chicken shit guy.

What if the promotion is not in line with the owner's plans for the team? Should the owner be loyal to the World League or his own agents? I can't answer for anyone as to why they declined promotion, as I do not know who was offered promotion. I know a few owners from the league who would have promoted.

Well if the owner's plans for the team aren't to play the best teams in the world and try to win the trophy in the best league in the game, I don't think I'd want to be a part of that team.

If he gives them the option, he should bear consequences. He's bearing with the consequences now. He realized it's a stupid system, so instead of promoting some team that doesn't deserve it, he's letting Dakar stay.
And more than that - he shouldn't dis his paying customers, who have nothing to do with it other than being in APL. The only people he's dissing are people who wussed out. If your team didn't wuss out, then he's not talking to you. You have no reason to be offended.

Yea, i hope all the APL owners and agents complaining about bot here will just stop buying flex and quit the game like they threatened to. Maybe they'll actually sack up about one thing but my guess is that they'll wuss out and keep playing GLB.

Not sure who you are referring to when you say this but I have never said that. However, I will say that I have a different viewpoint of how paying customers are treated on this game.

Well I read "APL has pretty much wussed out"
And I don't read: "a small part of APL took their option, that is within my rules, to stay in APL"
To me, that is a big difference
Maybe because I'm not a native speaker and the differences between those two sentences are not as big as they seem to me...
but i'm really pissed

You are not understanding. It is the principle of him starting the thread. Whether it is directed at a specific agent, team, etc it sets the wrong precedent that the creator would act in such a way. Supposedly we have mods and others in place to police forums to reduce flaming and trolls yet the creator whether knowingly or unknowingly started a thread that is the flagship for flaming and trolls. Just appears odd and uncalled for (whether the statement was true or not)

EDIT: Response was to Sik With It post you responded to not your post obviously

Look, everyone knows that GLB could and probably should be a better overall product. There are communication things, sim related things, league structure things and future planning (is there any outside of 1 season at a time?)

A majority of the game is a user content type stuff like the forums, different build tactics, running teams, recruiting, and other stuff like that.

I think people getting way too upset about bort calling a spade a spade. Some APL teams had plans all season long to gut, quit, completely rebuild with low level guys, merge or what not. Others didn't want to go to WL for other reasons but most everyone understands it's because they think they'll get beat in WL and miss the playoffs meaning their team will earn less money and have to have the embarrassment of having a losing season and being relegated (which almost no team that makes it to WL has ever experienced). It's a lot easier being a big fish in a small pond plus it's nice to only worry about losing or having to really gameplan 2-3 times a season.

It's really not that much of a slap in the face. I mean, it's really not that big a deal. I don't people should take it so personally. I mean, it's really not a big deal and to harp on paying money thing is kinda lame. Just brush it off. I hate to see these people in real life when there is stuff that doesn't go their way. I mean, this is just an anonymous internet game and some people seem really offended.

cliff notes and translation for cpl posters: people need to quit getting so easily offended. If you're not having fun anymore and don't enjoy the game/atmosphere/owner, then it's probably time to find a new internet hobby. The world would go one without a few extra GLB agents and we'd all get along just fine if GLB suddenly vanished (outside of lost money that is)

also, no u, to the first point, jeff garcia, ded in playofs, lolsomething, si related post, etc...

Less then I was 24 hours ago but still does not mean I am not still supportive. I guess I am a hopeless optimist that things can change and improve.
