I can see where you would say that DMP, the same way you are pointing out that it is childish about not putting more effort into the player is really the only leverage that he has at this point. You equal it to the "take my ball and go home" scenario, well the same could be said of catspaw and likening it to "its my ball and I dont like you anymore so Im going to play with my new friends".

If I felt that someone was trying to screw up my team, and I was an owner (I'm not saying that joemalaka is, just dealing entirely in hypotheticals) I would probably make the guy ride the bench until either a) his contract ran out, or b) I got a good trade offer for him. Doing anything else establishes a precedent of letting players hold you hostage.

That said, that's a crappy situation that shouldn't happen in the first place. I've been on both sides of the equation when reasonable management and a reasonable player agreed on terms of release so that the player could join a team with his friends or more playing time, etc. There's no reason for these things to get out of hand, but if they do, I don't get why everyone expects the owner to just drop an asset without any compensation.

I understand what you're saying BradyFTW, and I agree with you whole heartedly! The problem I have with this situation is that catspaw overreacted to joemakala trying to let his team know about the forum posts about another one of his players. To me that is trying to help the team, not sabotage it. Catspaw immediately benched and banned joemakala from the team forums which is what brought on the whole situation of joe not improving his player. I agree in the thought that a questionable player should be traded, but in this instance the player was not being questionable....he was trying to help the team/owner by making them aware of the other forum posts about another player on their team. Why would you ban someone on your team for that? It makes no sense to me. This is what has made joemakala so angry is that he is being made the bad guy and being punished by this team when all he was trying to do was point something out to them and bring it to their attention, for this he is banned and traded? That is why joe wants to be released instead of traded, he does not feel as though he did anything wrong (nor do I) and doesnt feel that catspaw should get any type of compensation for a situation that he brought upon himself. I see your points and have no argument with you, just stating my opinion from what info I have gotten out of this sorted tale! There will be no easy way to end this, its already a downward spiral.

so wait, the owner has the choice of paying a player who wont help any...or realeasing that player and not having to pay him....and he doesnt pull the trigger?

the owner gains nothing for holding on to this player, no one is going to trade for him (from the responses in this forum)

i dont get why you are going to make a team you might get traded to suffer from the actions of catspaw. if he trades you without telling them your just gonna quit with your player? whats the point? he doesnt benefit from you playing on another team good or bad

My point is catspaw should not benefit from my player anymore. He has already done unhanded trading, in my opinion...so he shouldn't trade Mojo knowing the inactivity.

Both Catspaw and kevins4484 will not comment on PM's being released by catspaw. Why are the Bandits avoiding this. A Bandits player is the one that admitted getting partial PM I sent to Catspaw. This is against the rules. Is this how the Bandits work?
