IRONS POWER RANKINGS (thou 7 games)
--------------------------------------------
1.(e)Chicago Bullets (7-0) 9.2
2.(w)Lima Lemurs (7-0) 8.7
3.(w)Wala Wala Drunken Shriners (7-0) 8.6
4.(e)New Brunswick Scarlet Knights (6-1) 8.5
5.(e)Manhattan Massacre (6-1) 8.3
6.(e)New York Strikers (6-1) 8.3
7.(w)Rapid City Rushmores (6-1) 7.8
8.(w)Honolulu Red Devils (6-1) 7.4

and there you have it!
this will be the last time better record teams must go higher, next week (at the halfway point in the season) a team say 7-1 could be lower than a 6-2.. who knows what will happen though..

I'll go against the rankings a little bit....NB even with 1 loss is a candidate to be moved up higher IMO. That said, rankings between two conferences like this is a tough job to say the least. Nice work on this Irons.

Thanks irons. It is always hard to be the one who puts it out and has everyone pick at your work. So I'm very appreciative.

On to the picking. This is a very tough ranking to do. The top east and west teams haven't played. So it is tough to compare undefeated Wala Wala and Lima with New Brunswick and Manhattan.

Also, Chicago is undefeated, but they haven't played any top teams yet. And if you look at common opponents with New Brunswick and MM, Chicago won less convincingly.

So, I agree with 6-8. 1-5 is really hard. If I had to bet, I'd pick Manhattan or us over Chicago in a game. And my hunch is that the East is a little stronger than the West overall.

Let me rephrase that. 1-5 is the first tier and it is hard to say within the first tier what is what. 6-8 is the second tier, and it is also hard to sort out within the second tier.

glad you like, ok to debate thats why its here
it will get interesting next time when i mix standings.. although not as many thrilling games (matchup wise at least) as last week..

and i just went back and fixed a mistake.. took .1 off #7, wanted to have a .5 difference and now it happens..

Has anyone been in the playoffs on a team last season? If so exactly how does it work? Does it do its own power rankings and the place you finish in your entire league is your seed? How about the picks for games does #1 play #16 or is it weird? Just question i have cause in other game i play its got weird playoff rules and im in the finals next weekend but its a best of 3 series.

#1 will play #8..
the only game i played last season as a playoff game.. i think we were 10-6 and got the 6th seed..
there are 4 rounds to the playoffs, so at most a team will get a 20 games season, i think that there is a home team for the final game.. (not like superbowl) so theres a chance at getting 12 home games, which does make a huge diff. $ wise as you can charge big time and still pack the house..

but i thought top 8 from each conference makes it? Its only 8 per league that makes it?

They do it for each conference, top 8 get in from each. Each conf has its own bracket and the winners of each conf play for the league champ. seeding is same as the league standings. and you can check the seedings, how it would be if the playoffs started today, here:

AND, they just changed the tie break rules. Head to head now trumps points scored.

Do you know what they'll do in the event there are three or more tied in record? Say team one beat team two, but team two beat team three, who beat team one?

It's right back to points scored then isn't it..
