Bort should have just changed the options for WL Promotion.

Ok
Wuss-out

Then it would have been defined earlier, so the teams that actually do wuss out don't get called out on it later. But hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Maybe he'll make the change now.

Other invalid reasons. Wahhhh we don't like the forums, wahhhh we don't want to get beat. Those are the only 2 possible reasons I see, and they both are not valid excuses in any other league when it comes to promotion. So IMO you guys totally wussed out.

you have to admit tho...when the best of your league comes up to the WL and gets rejected back every season like its guarded by Dikembe Mutumbo...its probably got to get a little frustrating...

Kudos to Bort for sending the message that declining automatic promotion is frowned upon.

There is something wrong about Mutumbo rejecting APL and giving them the finger wag...

You know, I am in the APL, and I have no clue as to the real story here. However, when the developer of the game gets in the forums and blasts his customer base it tells me something about him. Bort lacks professionalism. That was a pretty douchebaggy move.

I don't really see it as blasting when he's just informing us of something that actually happened. Apparently the top teams in APL wussed out (true), so APL pretty much wussed out (true).

There are plenty of reasons to decline without it beint "wussing out." It was a chicken shit move by a chicken shit guy.

I have been led by example.

What if the promotion is not in line with the owner's plans for the team? Should the owner be loyal to the World League or his own agents? I can't answer for anyone as to why they declined promotion, as I do not know who was offered promotion. I know a few owners from the league who would have promoted.

Frowned upon? If it is an automatic promotion, the option should not even be there. Calling out the customer base is a pretty stupid business move, imo.

the plans were to wuss out...and they were eventually called out for doing so...

There shouldn't be a decline promotion option for WL. Unless you're gutting or requesting demotion to a lower cap for a rebuilding thing of sorts it shouldn't even be a part of the WL charter or whatever. Especially when teams use it to make things easier on themselves (some not all). If WWR and Grits go 15-1 again then that's pretty lame

Well in their defense, Mutumbo is a pretty scary dude.
