now...making repeat purchases would make a lot of sense

like instead of having to go to the flex page then go to paypal then etc etc if you could just click a button then a confirmation and its done

or even better if youre on a page where you would use flex but dont have enough it would just offer you the needed flex

steam is an example to strive for...shits so easy it should be illegal

It's the old business parable. Two bakers in the town make very good bread. It costs them 35 cents to make each loaf. One baker sells his for a dollar... the other baker sells his for 50 cents. While the first baker makes a better profit on each loaf he sells, his competitor makes more money every month. Why? Because he sells more bread. GLB could simplify it's system, increase it's initial cost for teams and dots, eliminate costs for SEQ, boosts, scrims, ect, ect, ect... and still make a better profit because more people could afford MORE dots and teams overall.

Just a thought.

You seem to have missed the point. The guy who sells his bread for a dollar has a better business model and makes more money. Even if the second baker sells 4 times as many loaves of bread as the first, he still makes less money. Most business advisers would tell you to do exactly what the first baker has done, increase your prices because even though you will price some people out, in the long run you'll still make more money. The analogy doesn't work because it involves competition. GLB has no real competition. There isn't another game like it as far as I know in the football genre.

If the sarcasm is as such, then how many feel this way?

I'm not sure of the amount of flex purchased but either a) Bort and DD saved a very large portion of sales during the games peak, b) revenue is still streaming in at a higher rater than any of us believe, or c) a combination of the first two.

At this point we know there are at least 3 developers (plus Bort), Catch, DD, and multiple members of support staff that are "on payroll". That's salary being paid each month. They also have server costs that are a likely monthly expense. That money has to come from somewhere.

There are definite pros and cons to the current cost structure. The up-front cost is high and for a short-term player could make GLB the most expensive game they've ever played. The longer you stick around the better bargain the game is.

Networks killed glb the most for me. I've never joined one and never would really. My players going to free agency back in like season 8 was the most fun I'd have in the game. A bunch of owners pining for my players, a bunch of owners getting crapped on when I turn them down. Now everyone fills holes internally and players like mine are left for the shit box.

But there is no way to remove them sooooo, I'm for the investments I've made previously...if I hadn't spent the pennies I already have, id be gone.

I've been in multiple networks and usually fill about half my needs from outside the network, tbh. In my experience networks are great for getting commitments to build dots for new teams but free agents aren't as common. I know some networks are different and feeder networks are a whole different conversation.

If you build good dots (which it appears you do), you're dots will be in demand. Well, unless you build QBs and don't have a home lined up for them.

I agree feeder networks don't even game plan in lower leagues. This is what killed the idea of networks for me. I like to have competitive fun for the entire life of my dot. After this season I will be completely independent. I have never had trouble finding teams for my free agents.

Tying this only to networks is ridiculous. Even the "independent" teams I've ever been on don't take things seriously until near PLs- it's partially because if you are building for the future, the unbalanced builds do too many quirky things to worry about what they will do. Somebody who wants to win low levels just gets everyone to balance their build, add lots of stamina early on, and they can win with a little gameplanning. The teams that win like this basically sacrifice their future build though.

I am not talking about building for balance, I am talking about just taking the time to put together a depth chart and an AI for crying out loud.

The problem is, why gameplan if you are out of balance and someone not building for the future is gonna wipe the floor with you, no matter your gameplan. There is no point in focusing when you have those people who want to be Prep League Heroes. So why put in the cares?

Gameplanning is fun, and even with off balanced builds, you can get a sense on how dots perform at every level. At least it is fun for me. It was also a lot of fun seasons 1 - 5 back in '08 as well if you remember.

not true

you just need to have good enough dots, just keep your normal equipment up to date, spending VP where it make sense at your level and using plays that are working well at the level you are playing. Than you can beat teams in the win right now modus at all levels witout investing time in gameplanning. I only really gameplanned for one game, the WL playin game.
