Tucking our tails and running? If we were worried about losing to you WE WOULDN'T OFFER TO PLAY YOU DOLTS IN EVERY SPORT. It is more akin to working with your friend from high school. You do your thing, but since his Dad is the owner he takes all of the perks and your value goes unnoticed. A competing company offers you a job at twice the pay and better working conditions and you take it. I don't think that is considered running scared, I think it is called taking a better opportunity.

Worried about losing? I wouldn't say 'worried.' After all, aggy has gotten used to losing over the last 100-some-odd years. The reason why aggy wants to continue to play Texas is for business. Otherwise, aggy has no guaranteed in-state marquee opponent every year. You're lying to yourself if you think it's for any other reason.

And your analogy is total fail, dude. Texas is Daddy and aggy ain't Texas's friend. Texas AD profits $70 million. aggy AD's entire budget is $65 million. What value exactly is going unnoticed? That the aggy AD runs a budget deficit every year? How quickly you forget that Nike wouldn't give aggy the same deal as Texas because Texas is Texas and aggy ain't Texas. aggy brings nothing to the table.

Really?

Scoreboard, dude. Scoreboard. Say whatever you want, but you know it: score. board. Scoreboard.

Looks like y'all profit $7M more per year than us...BEFORE we go to the SEC. Not to mention you spend $55M more than we go and haven't done anything with it lately. I am not sure where you pull your figures from, I am assuming your ass.

Yeah...sorry. Those were football-only numbers. But you're right. Texas spent $55 million more than aggy. It's not like Texas built the biggest football stadium in the Big 12, sent millions of dollars of its AD profits to The University's general fund, endowed any professorships, starting building the infrastructure for The Longhorn Network, etc.

Remind me...how's that aggy network coming along? aggy AD finished paying off that $16 million loan it got from aggy university yet? Nah...still got 7 years of payments left, amirite? What about the bat guano? Y'all found a way to clean that out of Tackle Box Field?

lolu I bet aggy really thinks that. There's a reason why calling someone a 'delusional aggy' is redundant.

Texas owns aggy in every sport. 76-37-5 in football. Hell, aggy doesn't even have a winning record against Texas in aggy's own stadium (22-25-2 at Kyle Field against Texas). It's something like 137-85 in men's basketball and 60-15 in women's basketball. It's 239-121-5 in baseball. Had aggy stayed in the Big XII, aggy would have had to beat Texas every time they played in every sport for the next four decades just to get to at least .500 in every sport with Texas.

You keep on keeping on with that whole 'Texas's Super Bowl' thing. It's kind of precious in a touched-in-the-head kind of way.

As a member of a conference that isn't full of self-serving douchebags, we will be a part of the SEC network, which will have immediate distribution and make the soon to be defunct LHN look like small potatoes. Here is a visual representation of this, where the blue indicates future SEC Network coverage, and orange indicated current LHN distribution:

Just a couple of weeks ago another distributor took a big ol' dump on Deloss's chest, picking up every ESPN-affiliated network but one. Can you guess which one?

Oh no, we are paying off an interest free loan at our convenience. How HORRIBLE!!!

Kyle Field is a bat sanctuary, and it still smells better than 6th Street.

You honestly think Deloss has anything to do with those negotiations or prices? lolu ESPN decides all that. All Deloss has to do is laugh his way to the bank with $300 million paid by ESPN. Oh my God must it suck to be Texas...that $300 million is such a burden.

Awesome. So aggy AD doesn't pay aggy university any interest payments and, thus, cheats the Texas taxpayer not only out of any return on investment, but also out of keeping up with the rate of inflation. I thought aggy never lied, cheated or stole, or tolerated those that did? I guess aggy has different definitions for "lying" and "cheating" and "stealing" and "tolerating" than the entire rest of the English-speaking world.

I like how y'all throw out that $300M number, like Deloss just brought a big ol' money sack for them to fill up. In reality, the school gets $220M over 20 years, or $11M a year. Florida makes near that much for their 3rd tier rights right now, so it isn't like they are getting tons more than other similar schools. Also, I would bet a million flex that there is no way in hell ESPN continues to pay this amount for much longer. Look at the totals for this year:

Profit/Loss for ESPN on LHN
$15 million rights fees.
Startup costs have been estimated at 15-30 million. Lets split the difference and say $22 Million.
$26 Million per year - production and overhead
$4 Million to buy the Kansas game.

So far this year, they've laid out $67 Million for the network

How much are they making?
Grande Communications claims 180,000 subscribers. FIOS in North Texas is very small right now.
ESPN reportedly came off their asking price of $0.40 to get these deals done. Assume they get $0.25 per subscriber per month, they're generating $600,000 per year from the cable companies.

TV ads: nobody has it, ratings are only going to be decent for football and basketball games. They'll be lucky to make a couple million per year if/when they get picked up on major carriers.

Bottom line:
Income:............$700,000
Expenses:.......$67,000,000
Loss:..........($66,300,000)

You are dumb. For real, you are so dumb.

The real money is in the conference deal. The LHN was nothing more than an incentive used by ESPN to keep Texas from blowing up the Big 12 and heading to the Pac 12. ESPN gets the chance at increased subscriber profits from the future Big 12 T.V. rights, and Texas gets 300 million and increased exposure. The LHN could lose money for the length of the contract and ESPN wouldn't care, because it prevented Texas from going to the Pac 12 and creating a future bidding war for that conference's contract.

On the other hand, the aggies run from daddy Texas and ESPN could give less than a shit. This is just another example of where the power lies in Texas football.
