I was just trolling you because you asked if someone could sell the game to you. I don't really think anybody will have a good idea of how much they like it until it launches as much of the fun will be the "out of the gates" conpetition and trying to figure out how it works, just like GLB classic

However, if you love this game for the overwhelmingly complex nature of player building like myself, all indications are that the next game will not be for you. Seems to be more appealing to a casual gamer, and there are some interesting aspects being added. I do like the idea of pick up games for agents.

If they continue with their current plan of the "respec" where you can pay to completely redo your build (copy someone else's) on the fly at any time, the game is doomed

As a big peewee guy I would imagine this would be somewhat fun for you. Though if you really like a lot of control over your AI and building your own defenses and what not it might not be really appealing.

Player building isn't totally an art in GLB2, but the concepts are sort of interesting. Building your team around a strategy is kinda fun. Today I spent about 3 hours creating a full zone intercept defense to test out some of Bort's and Corndog's zone plays. I have also had some fun putting together full run and pass teams. There are a lot of statistics to be had too. It mirrors the way GLB used to be in that regard. And there are achievements as well now which make getting good stats a lot of fun. The smaller rosters and lesser energy pull from ST's makes it more interesting for just player builders as you likely won't go to a team just to be an STOP or a backup who hardly gets any stats. You also have the option to put your player in a pick up game with other guys and I believe that option if free anytime. So that is pretty neat.

A lot of flack has been given to the league structure only being 10 teams, but to me it isn't too bad. There is a discussion going on to maybe up it to 12 team leagues with 3 divisions possibly. 16 teams apparently would make too long a season per the discussion from Bort. And really that makes sense. The ladder games make for an interesting twist. Playing 13 games a season against opponents not in your own league that are within 10 ranks of you on the board. Gives a little more motivation than currently in GLB to be the top team in the game. Also promotes rivalries with various leagues like GLB used to have. Playoffs also consist of 6 teams with the top 2 teams getting a bye in the first round. Also offseasons will be really short. Like 3 days. And there will only be one day of preseason games. Possibly only one game but there is a discussion on that too.

The graphics are kinda meh but it will appeal to some. I would love a vertical view or a classic dot view of the game, but it isn't the worst thing in the world. They do keep getting better as Bort plays with it.

AI is obviously casual and depth chart sort of limiting offensively but still fun imo.

So in this new game you can't really max speed and neglect others?

What fun is that?

Sounds like a game for the people who pump SAs early

No, I mean you can't "max speed and neglect others" in THIS game--GLB classic.

The "fastest RB ever" finished his career in Pro (pre-decline). The WR pool is littered with the corpses of WRs with 165+ speed that never played a down at the World League level.

It was a subjective statement that Rob made. His point was, speed (when primary) is so much higher than many of the other stats, that it is practically like you are neglecting them. To take his point literally, I doubt very much that anybody in GLB Classic has ever built a max primary dot all the way to top level.

EDIT: I know this has never happened. It is why Wise showed off his RB so much.

You realize some people don't actually care about playing in WL right?

I have max speed on a couple guys and they are kinda failures in comparison to my other guys. And that really is only with a superstar player will it be even worth trying.

Ya. But ill probably be pretty casual in both though. I don't want to come out of the gates swinging in GLB2 with a team and really put the screws to people so I will probably just make a couple players in order to work towards superstar guys like everyone else.
