yea it is free to get the red rings repaired or replaced during the first 3 years you own it. And i mean free.. they pay shipping both directions.

hahaha thats funny, ya i really doubt microsoft is losing much by sending out new replacements. I mean hell they got all the same identical parts back in the ones we just shipped them, i wouldnt mind a new one. nor would i mind a 5 day wait for a new one
Actually from what I have read they found that the main issue came from a part that they decided to produce in house. So they are replacing that part and moving forward for the majority of the issues.

First off, xbox live is incredible. Call of Duty 4 online is the most ridiculous game ever. Screw Halo 3.
If you're lucky your xbox wont break though as i just had to send mine in to microsoft two days ago.
I can't play FPS on a controller. I need an actual gun or a mouse/keyboard. Plus aim assist is lame.

The further clarify, its when you have 3 out of the 4 rings in the lighting panel turning the color red instead of green. Only 3/4 is considered RROD. 1/4 is just considered a hardware problem. Which type of hardware problem can be determined by the error message that appears on your television when you power up your system.
