Being optimistic, it would be nice if the league and ladder combination kind of captured the feeling of both. Maybe you'll be gunning for the best team in your league during league play, but rooting for them when it comes to ladder since ladder becomes the way to "prove" which league is better.

Ladder kind of keeps the top teams as part of their "home league" while emulating the World League in some respects.

disagree. Competition was perfectly fine when the different pro leagues where saying they were the best with no way to prove it.

Once you setup a system for people to prove it, people realize they really aren't the best and eventually stop trying to compete and either lose interest or move to dominate a lesser league (pee wee, casual, or they set the bar lower and work on being awesome in the lower levels.)

The battles over which pro league was better was EPIC and it all went away because of the WL.

hmm...not exactly. There were about 4 teams with any shot to win the conference and 12 teams with no shot in each one at the time. I agree the battles over what pro league was better was epic and fun for the forums. And the rankings and tournaments going around were wonderful. But the leagues themselves were mostly decided in the preseason.

Would be nice if Ladder games didn't include league maybe? But ya having a regional pride counter based on that as well would be pretty cool.

IMO get rid of the idea of GLB2.
Get rid of the World League...
Get rid of Pee Wee
Get rid of Casual

Add better GFX on replays on GLB1....
Add the option to purchase Leagues for rivalry play.
Add updated game related information.
Add a new and reasonable cost for a dots full boosting career.(Majority of the the customers will not be able to afford the cost of a dots full boosting career)

I wonder how many great customers miss out on the higher levels due to their financial situations?

Boom back to GLB 5 years ago but with enhancements and updates...
I guarantee in just a few short months the user base will boom back to the elite status it once had...

Would make sense for ladder games to just skip teams in your league.

It will be a lot less likely when there's more than two leagues, but overall not a bad idea.

Ya understandable it will be less league matchups when there are more leagues. But ya skipping your league for surrounding leagues would be a great way of keeping the spirit of league games and the spirit of the ladder/regional pride system in tact.

Otherwise it would be like it is right now on the server. Oh hey I play Queen City in ladder game but also in league later today. Gonna throw an lolplan in the ladder game so I can save everything I have for the league game.

Ask court rivals if that structure worked for them

The idea that I think we are using is a little tough to explain in a post, but it seems to make mechanical sense.

Veteran level teams are going to be sorted into bronze, silver, and gold, with teams promoting to and from the leagues based on performance, but outside of promotion and demotion the leagues are static.

Up until that point, it is a static version of the cloud leagues, sort of. There's basically two tiers for every age group, the "normal" one, and the "crap" one. The bottom team of every normal league gets demoted to a random crap tier league, and the best teams from the crap tier get promoted into a random normal tier to fill the void of demoted teams and sold teams. Outside of demotion and promotion though, the leagues are static.

Once that age group hits veteran level, the teams in the crap tier get shuffled into copper, and the teams in the normal leagues get shuffled into silver.

It's subject to change, and my post is subject to being explained poorly.

If you think that's trolling then you have some serious issues....
I'm as serious as can be....the ladder structure is a failure and has been proven so in other rpg's.

Who builds the best Returners in GLB 2.0?

21-0 in the second half, here comes the comeback:

Nah, you want to match up against the best, you need to play any team, not just teams outside of your league.

Congrats...either you have great returners or the opposite teams need more practice on special teams
