There's a bit of a discussion on the Pushovers' forum, we're a bit conflicted on this one: on one side, we were looking forward to facing DDL again. On the other, they're a team who is proven to be able to beat us and is always a close game, so maybe not facing them is a good thing.

I completely agree with you Doc. I mean, what freaking moron would run the damned ball 74 fuking times and only pass 13 times ? And this is all against probably the BEST team in the entire Pro league ? Who would freaking gameplan that way ? Who would even attempt to think that garbage would work ? Better yet, name one defensive coordinator in all of GLB that would have gameplanned for a team to run the ball 74 times ??? NOBODY ! Its ridiculous ! So obviously Boston has some sort of exploit knowledge that they utilized against DDL. Thats all it can be.

How can they be the best team in USA Pro if they aren't in the playoffs anymore?

If they scout, they may have seen Boston is a huge run team, here's some numbers.

The Nighthawks have ran the ball more than anyone all season. How could you not see that coming? The Coyotes prepared to stop the run, but they still ran all over us. I think their team (HBs and OL) is set up to run very well, and it works.

OR...they figured that their only chance was to try to grind out the clock (*gasp* what a new concept!) and keep it away from DDL's offense. (btw, DDL has a great pass rusher....and you eliminate a strength of their team when you run the ball all the time)

the more you talk, the more it just sounds like sour grapes.

Bottom line, who ever exploit the FLAWS in the game, wins. I can't see how you guys can disagree with that.. and that's just the way it is I understand that. Just a comment, this is a forum.

if you're calling "use a gameplan that your opponent isn't expecting" a flaw.....

btw, isn't there an option to adjust your strategy to your opponent? as long as that's not set on zero, you'd think you'd eventually catch on. if an owner sets that onto zero, then they made their own bed.

You would think that a strategy expert would be able to account for an ununsual gameplan.

when you have 2 players owning all the players they have the luxury of building their players to fit the team scheme without having to look for it in FA. The players were built with a specific function and running the ball was their bread and butter. They have the advantage big time when gameplanning against teams that have had to find all their players in FA.

You know, as of right now I change my mind about the one man, two man teams like Boston. I feel that it's possible for some certain folks to have inside knowledge of the game, and if that was the case, then it's definitely fair and almost makes a lot of sense. This is all speculation of course, but IMO it's possible.
