GG colorado - gotta check that AI though, not kicking a FG with on 4th and 6 on the 8 yard line with 51 seconds left probably cost you the game.
Yeah it definitely cost them the game. We deserved to lose.. but I have to say that I just don't understand what happened in that game. I had AI set to run 60% of the time and we passed around 70% of the time outside of the usual run areas (short yardage, late half, late lead.)
We also looked very slow and sluggish for some reason after the first quarter.. we got a lot of pressure early on and then we were shut down. We have a lot of stamina.. I guess maybe confidence?
Oh well..weird game.. we'll take the gift here since we gave one away last time.. but I wonder why the games were re-simming.
I was clicking on SNK's schedule page just randomly and I saw they had won 35-28 and had five turnovers in a complete game.. I looked back and they won by 3 on a last minute score?
I also saw new scores in the EZ and SF games, although they both won. I never saw a team re-simmed and then lose, but I saw three new games resimmed from what the score said at about 15-20 mins to sim. I'm not saying it's not normal, but it's a little curious as to why they show a game finished on the schedule page and then resim it. I doubt it's bugs all those times.
Did they really resim it? I doubt that. Our game finished pretty early this week, and 25 past the hour. We figured out the game ID and watched it then.
Yeah, I know it happens from time to time and you'll see complaints in the forum, but that was back when you could watch a game in progress. Granted I haven't ever checked games early during the year like I did today, but it's odd that they finish a game and then restart it routinely. The SF/LIL weezy game originally showed a 7 point SF win with a lower score (but SF still outgained LilWeezy in yards like they did in the official game) the EZ game was originally a bigger blowout like 30 or 35 to 7... and the SNK was 3 ints, 2 fumbles lost for Fresno and SNK winning for most of the game.. final score SNK 35-27. The Columbus score I saw at the same time was 38-0 and that stood. I saw Indianapolis beat Sim City 13-0, that changed to 20-14 I think, Indy..
I'm just salty that I set a fairly run heavy game plan, Colorado plays a 4 man front with 7 DBs in coverage all day, we could have ran for 250 yards in that game, and we passed 13 times on first down to 7 runs.. and three of those first down runs were running out the clock. How the hell does that happen? We were winning for most of the game, it's not like we had to pass. We also have AI shut off, (but not the "follow exactly" thing)
I know it's pointless to gripe about it, but that sort of thing hasn't happened all year to us, but it always seems to happen in the playoffs. I think in all three years now either myself or the opponent has griped pretty hard about an AI not following the plan at all seemingly.
(and yes I know we have the option to turn off the AI, but that's a whole new can of worms if you haven't thought out every single situation and set 40 inputs for every situation.)
Like I said before, Colorado deserved to win. They lost because they didn't change their "go for it" setting inside the 10.. I've seen that already lead to a win in another playoff game for one of my teams.. but I just saw what looked like two different teams out there.. We looked like level 20s playing 30s on defense.. I think Colorado completed every single 3rd and long pass and 4th down until the final play where they got stopped inches short of a first down and a win.
If that's how the Fire is going to play in the playoffs, we'll lose to SNK by 30.
