Abortion rights, stem cells, gun rights, separation of religion and the state, gay marriage rights and so on. I'm not likely going to change your mind no matter how well I try to articulate or educate others in the benefits behind stem cell research.

However, why we can't take a moment from our spin-machine mud-slinging podiums and look at issues that we can try to come to some sort of working compromise on?

I don't understand why we can't try to figure out a system to improve health care; the American system costs the private consumer and business owner far too much and it is inefficient. Beyond this, there are millions of people who do not have health insurance and I don't understand why in the 21st century the "right to health care" hasn't become a staple.

Our school systems are also hurting. We can figure out a way to improve this.
Women and minorities are still paid less than white males in the same position.
America is falling behind in technological, engineering and other science and math based education field pursuits.
Our oil dependency is staggeringly scary.

There are lots of things facing this nation that we all agree needs fixing and we'll be much better off if everyone stops calling Obama a terrorist homosexual lover and McCain isn't a senile elderly pawn of the Republicans.

And while we're ranting....Let me go on about the word gay. Gay has transformed from a word essentially meaning 'happy' to a term for homosexuals. The word then transcended that meaning and is now commonly used to refer to anything being 'lame' or some other similar adjective. Why is it though, that homosexuals get offended by this? I wasn't offended when they stole the word from my language to use for their own means....I don't care if heteros branded them with the word (Honestly, I don't know the history of how it all went down).....they embraced it, so they accepted that the homosexual population redefined the word. Well, its been redefined again, so get over it. I try not to use the word gay, fag (a cigarette), faggot (a bundle of sticks), Lesbian (a native of the island Lesbos) or any other words to describe homosexuals because I want my words back....you've all seen Clerks 2 right? Same thing. I'm taking that shit back.

And now, to be hypocritical, I think the word retard has also transcended its original meaning. The retards need to stop getting so offended when we use the word retard. Like dumb and stupid, it no longer refers to their condition but just to a general lack of intelligence/sense.





Anyways, back to politics....I'm a republican by self designation, but I really hate how you have to agree with certain rule sets to be in American politics. You either have to agree with ALL of these things or disagree with them. Really, I'm more of a middle of the road guy..theres things on both sides that I agree with. Unfortunately , there probably won't ever be a candidate that makes a successful run to the presidency that will be the same (So I think that means I agree with you, in a sense, Admerylous...thats why I quoted you)....so if I vote this year, I will either vote for McCain because his vice president is a lot hotter than Obama's, or I'll write in Christopher Walken. I fucking hate politics, especially this election year.
