And Coach, what exactly did the Aces do to beat your Bourbon Street Bullies? According to my logic, Continentals would also beat your team in a scrimmage. And aren't you guys in 1st place or something?

Your logic is very flawed. Though it was a good strategy to schedule the scrimmage on a day when the Aces' attention would obviously be focused elsewhere.

Eh, both teams used their starters the entire game, and used a gamelan that had helped them in the past. Neither team prepared for this game. Not enough time to scout for a scrimmage on both sides. They both went in blind

As a messenger you sure know a lot about Philly's game tactics.

Quit the bullshit and stop spamming this game all over GLB.

The Aces I imagine. lol

Not really. Granted, the team wants to win all our games, scrimmages or not, but really losing a scrimmage not against the Kai comes with a collective sigh from the team, a shrug, and knowing we'll soon have a thread in the USA Pro forums where some league claims their greatness by beating us...

Frankly, it's just a bit of an annoyance that we've won 13 of 15 non-USA Pro League games including teams from:
Can AA #4
USA BBB #12
SA Pro
USA BBB #12
Can AAA #1
USA #4
WE AAA #2
USA AA #1
SE Asia AAA #2

And against teams whose combined record is 101-29, but those two teams that beat us still try and take it upon themselves to try and push the team and the USA Pro down to every other leagues level because they beat us. It's all good though, comes with the territory of playing in THE BEST LEAGUE but... I think the Aces have proven theirs and the USA Pro's worth, regardless of what Bull****... I mean, Frog... Would have you believe.

Um, have I mentioned anything about Philly's tactics (Besides the fact they played their starters, which every teams usually does for all games)? And don't worry, I'm only posting in USA Pro and the ocho. No bullshit

Saying you (er they) went into the biggest game of their season blindly really doesn't make me respect them more. Quite the opposite actually.

And there are still many reasons your logic is flawed.

I don't think it was the biggest game of their season. The playoffs are probably bigger to them. Sure, it will help a bit, but moving up a league would be better for them, I think.

This conversation seems to be going nowhere, so oh well, maybe some ocho teams will play you guys for real in a few seasons. For now, we can look at this game and others like it.

Right now i almost wish we were able to remove Friendlies from the schedule. Paul isnt here enough to put much time into them, and honestly we may be losing a few more in the future.

It definitly is the biggest game of the season. All the BBB teams have something to prove to the league, because they have such a hard time scouting real players, so they take the scrimmages so seriously and gameplan and RE-gameplan for them, meenwhile the USA Pro teams couldn't care less, really. We want a USA Pro Championship... The most prestiges title in the game. Some scrimmage against a BBB club is a blip on the radar.

It definitely was not the most important game on our schedule. If we lose, Who cares we were supposed to. Honestly it wasn't even our biggest game of the day. I just thought it was cool that we were able to beat the Aces regardless of circumstances.

Everyone is going to wonder next season why no USA PRO teams will schedule scrimmage games, and when it happens, point to this thread and the many like it as the reason.

I have no personal players of my own in USA PRO, or any affiliation with any USA PRO teams, so I apologize for "invading" your boards. I merely came here to say thank you to the Mustangs and Spartans for the opportunities to play such good teams.

We've played many scrimmage games, for one reason, and that was to test new tactics. I thought the reason it was called a "friendly scrimmage" was because the end result didn't mean anything? I guess if it's a tourny or a grudge match I can see a team trying to win, otherwise, I don't get the fascination of bragging about a scrimmage win, imo anyway.

Best of luck UPL, and thank you again Tim, Bolstersam, and PS3. Hopefully we can do it again sometime...

QFT

USAORG kicked our ass. I am still looking over the game to see what went wrong/what went right.

Perfect post. The worse thing that can happen is the USA Pro team refusing to play any other league because they know it's a lose-lose. The friendlys are about improving your own team not about beating the team unless it's a rivalry game or a tourny. The point is to fix your AI not to brag about beating a team in a higher league especially when the owner of that team is close to quitting GLB all together and isn't around much at all anymore.

Bort should charge 25 FPs to cancel scrims! LOL

We established a policy at the beginning of the season (Doomsday Sin) that we would not take scrimmages from lower level (league) teams unless we knew the owners or the team had a quality rep... you have absolutely nothing to gain from these "scrimmages" except these type of threads popping up. "Ooh my BBB team beat your AAA team and we are better... someone please pay attention to us". In reality any owner who has been around a while who has any sense will be trying to adjust their tactics or just totally disregard them because of the importance of late season playoff seeding.

From what I have seen most of these scrimmages should take place when Bort "Borks" the game mechanics or after the season. Trying to get 46 players ready for your regular game is pretty difficult over the course of two days... throw a scrimmage in there and try and change tactics drastically and then change them back... you have to be a one man team.
