Don't bother with BullFrog, the guy is just on some crusade to make his team and league seem more relevant then they are, probably because the team is tired of sitting around the BBB's wasting time when they joined it a few seasons ago. He'll take EVERY USA Pro loss as something of meaning, but disregard any and all Pro wins.

There is a reason teams move UP for winning. The Top Leagues are the Top Leagues for a reason.

Man...not even just football.

In TSE's world, this never happens..

...because from a 'statistical' standpoint that US Hockey team should never have had a chance.

Honestly, I would contend that in real life if a team wins it all they are by default the best team.

I can see why somebody would contend that but I totally disagree with that concept. I think if you are looking to define the "best", a one football game contest is a horrible non-precise way to make such a determination.

That's because you have some delusional belief that statistical analysis is more important than things like basic humanity.

The Giants showed up, played their asses off, fought harder, executed when it counted, and played better in the single biggest game of the year. They BEAT the Pats. They ARE the better team.

The fact that you don't get that means you don't really understand football or athletes and you would probably be a terrible coach/GM in real life.

Athletics is more than just numbers, TSE.

Ok lol, agree to disagree. I'll agree that athletics is more than numbers, which is my entire basis for my point of view, but if you don't follow it, that's cool.

Ya purehatred is right TSE. If you played football at any level (which is easy to tell you didn't based on that statement) you would know about the intangibles. Performing when it counts is a factor you cannot plan for. purehatred said it so well I can't even elaborate on it.

So the best basketball team is who wins in game 1? Why do they play 7 games, don't all 7 games mean something? By your method the 7 game series should end on day 1.

I suppose if football was a 3 game series to decide the Superbowl, then those second 2 games have no pressure or intangibles involved at all? I guess people turn into robots and only care about that one first game? Why would they care 100% about the first game, and nothing at all for games 2 and 3?

Any sport based on a series applies as well, if your the team that manned up and won the needed number of games for that series to be considered the best for that sport in that year then yes they are the best. Otherwise they wouldn't bother playing the games to determine it in the first place. Which is what the USA Pro league in GLB tries to contend in upholding their fantasy of being the best league with the best teams.

If you want to separate football from the other 3 sports you can, but either way I'm 100% sure and fixated that the concept will hold true that the best team in the game wins the SuperBowl way less than 50% of the time. My logic and criteria for how to evaluate a team can not be automatically defined unequivocally just based upon one single game.

To me that is a completely preposterous concept.

Wait, USA Pro isn't the best?!! Who is?! I DEMAND a league transfer!

All kidding aside, every Pro league is the best. Everyone wants to be in Pro, therefore that makes it the coveted league.

BBB teams don't want to stay in BBB. They want to promote up to the Pro division in their region, thus making each Pro division the BEST.

It might take a couple more seasons but the teams are rising. Now, on to the other stuff.

USA Pro is a tough league that houses some of the elite teams of GLB. How many teams can you name that could defeat the Pushovers, Bullies, and a few other teams on an equal level? There won't be many. USA Pro is very legit. I'll argue that all day.

I'll consent that there may be leagues that have a better overall team average, cause there is probably some other high leagues that don't happen to have the same rate of gutted teams or creampuffs that are in the Pros and bring down the average.

I think USA Pro is the best because of the top 1-5 teams for each and every league that you have to get past to win it all, I think the average of those 5 teams is higher in USA Pro than any other league, not necessarily all 32 teams of each league. The top 5 teams are where it counts because those are the guys that the ultimate road to a championship pretty much goes through.

And since we are one of those 5, well our bracket is skewed up to start and the next best 4 teams or so look pretty darn strong indeed, therefore I think USA Pro is the best!

I didn't intend to seperate football from the other sports that have series to determine the best team but I did and edited out.

Every sport that has a yearly season and playoffs that have one and done or a series to determine the champ or best team for that year is the same. What a team is on paper matters none if they lose out to a team that was lesser on paper. The Giant/Patriot Super Bowl was the perfect example. If the Rockies woulda beat the Red Sox it woulda been another example right there.

Your logic and criteria don't mean shit. Hate to tell you that. Lombardi Trophies do.

If you can't cowboy up and win when it matters most you are not 'the best team.'

Are you even a football fan? Honestly?

Yes all teams eventually want to be in the Pros, eventually. Do the good and great teams need to be there now to be considered as such, I wouldn't think so. I am glad someone from here finally admitted that it will at least take a couple of seasons for it all to pan out. It will take longer than a couple but I will take what I can get at this point. So there are 3 or 4 teams in the Pros that wouldn't be touched by any other team in any other league, great they are where they belong. It is only a matter of time when the deserving teams get there and the Pros can latch on to their feeling better than everyone else when it actually does mean just that. As it is now the people with that mentality prematurely look like idiots.

Theoretically it is suppose to be the best, is it unequivocally? Not yet. It will be in time just not yet.

This doesnt address my question of what if an NFL team had to play a 3 game series, do those 2nd and 3rd games not qualify for "winning when it matters most"?

And I'm the biggest football fan on the planet. It's possible to tie me, but you can't beat me on that.
