To be fair, I don't think a lot of teams are really "trying" in these scrimmage games, especially in some make believe tournament.

No, I never said it was a big deal to be in the tournament, we only entered because it's important to all of the teams involved to have the top teams in the game participate or it destroys the fun of all 63 other teams and the organizer involved if we skip out, i'm not going to do that to people.

And i don't care about this tournament anyhow, because in my opinion it's not a good tournament setup because you cant control for top teams like ours that have only boosted very little compared to some low profile team that is fully boosted. So then that low ranked team could upset us and act like they are better than us because they pulled off the win. The tournament will be a GREAT idea in the future when more or all teams in it are boosting from the very beginning of the year. And that's not the fault of the organizer, there is no way to set up a perfectly even and fair tournament with the boosting discrepancy.

So yeah, spending more than 5 minutes to gameplan for this last game would have been lame, and I was not interested in doing that.

I know but if we lose many more than we win, we look bad as a league and the champ gets cheapened imo.

Hmmm...ok. Let's examine these two statements. First, you say that you entered the tournament as a "favor" to other teams, so it doesn't destroy the fun, but, in the same breath, you then say that you don't care about the tournament because there's no control element for you possibly being embarrassed by a lesser team that boosted early.

Um, doesn't not caring and coming off as elitist not ruin the fun for others? What's the point in taking a shot at the top teams if their going to start the excuses before the game is even played?

Ok, so it's like big brother vs. little brother, and little brother's been up all day shooting jumpshots, and big brother just woke up from kicking it last night and has a hangover. Little brother asks you to play, and you say, "sure", 'cause you don't want to ruin his day. But, before the game even starts, you look at him and say, "I got hella fucked up last night, and I'm not even going to try, so don't get excited if you win, 'cause it doesn't mean shit."

You don't see how that takes the fun away? If little brother wins, big brother just hides behind the hangover excuse, if little brother loses, he feels even shittier because big brother puked up Absolut and Wendy's and still hit the winning shot.

It's fucked up alls I'm saying. You're a good team, you know you're good, no need to hedge your bets by bitching up in the tournament thread. All that does is show up the competition who you went to such "great lengths" to make sure they "enjoyed" themselves for.

I never said I entered as a "favor". If we get beat, you won't hear one peep out of me in terms of excuses. I will be honored and humbled if another team in another lesser league pulls off a win against us. Boosted or not, to beat us would be a surprise to me and that would still be a quality win for the other team, so kudos to whoever is able to knock us off. If we have the pleasure of making it far in the tournament, then that's cool too. I'm proud of our team and happy to make it as far as we can. So good luck to all the teams out there in this tourney!

Ok i dont feel like reading throuh the thread to see if someone ele has stated this, but correct me if im wrong the lima beans are fully boosted and DD is not

It's just embarrasing that the USA Pro keeps losing to other leagues. This is supposed to be THE premier league in GLB, and not trying when you accept a scrimmage is... well, a slap in the face of your players and the league as a whole.

Why accept a scrimmage, put your name and the leagues name on the line when you know teams are gunning for the USA Pro, and then bitch out and not try? Just seems like a waste of time.

Anybody that's confused on the the definition of "boosted" can look it up in the dictionary. Maybe you meant to say it depends on his "interpretation" of "boosted", which may or may not coincide with the definition of "boosted".

Perhaps your seeing the light now. They lose because the Pros are not much different than any other league. If they were the best they wouldn't even have to set tactics and still win. I love the excuses though.
