Does that count?

Sorry... don't mean to sound like I'm rubbing it in, but that's just the way Fiji has done it for three seasons.... tons of defense and just enough ball control to score when it's needed.

ok, that was a gutted, bizarre team but he had more than half his last season's total yardage on this game :O

That was insane, 21 td's in one game. The Alpha conference pro bowl team is going to be out of wack.

Games like that make me lose interest in the game.

New England -79.5 over Green Bay - In the battle of "they aren't even from Oceania", look for New England to steam roll a rebuilding Green Bay team.

Just to clarify, there IS a New England in Oceania. This is something that was discussed 2 seasons ago I believe.

Stats are a big reason people play this game. In week one, the RBs are completely screwed because of what transpired today, making any history of this season totally pointless.

Its a big deal.

Our back up qb had ten TD's.

Not sure what can be done but it sucks to have stats already whacked out.

Last season, Brisbane probably would have won by 160. There are supposed to be new mechanics in place to prevent this kind of stuff now, aren't there? Then again, Dogdandy could be so awful that it won't even matter (even if all the backups go in, they'll still probably slaughter Dogdandy's starters).

I also think that, as 27.5 point underdogs, Fiji and Newcastle both have great chances to win.

Told ya

Every team in Alpha will get to play Dogdandy and Green Bay. Every team will put up ridiculous stats in that game. Doesn't quite even things out (the RB that "only" gets 15 TDs against green bay won't actually be 6 TDs worse than Maroney, etc) but it's not like other teams aren't even getting a chance to replicate what Maroney did.

The difference is that those teams are much lower in level and will imporve more quickly than their competition. Therefore, the teams that play them earlier in the season will likely put up bigger numbers than the teams that play them later in the season. I am sure the dropoff won't be huge, but there should be a dropoff.

I don't think it kills the fun of the game because, seriously, who cares about the stats?

they've always been flawed by the gutted teams and the ridiculous scores, so what?

I see playing Dogdandy, teams like that as a bye week, and just concentrate on good opposition and good games.

I dunno I like "accurate" stats for some reason.

Stuff like this just bothers me.

900 yards and 20 TD's in one game?

Simulation huh?

I prefer realistic stats too, but if teams of this disparity were playing in RL, that might actually be somewhat accurate (though even if someone wasn't tackled on most of them, 58 rushes might still be hard to manage). I think the problem has more to do with the fact that the disparity in team quality between the elites and the gutted is far greater than you will ever find in the NFL.

ah yeah, I would love to get more realistic stats, but these don't bother me enough to take the fun out of the game.

So that's your plan then? Occasionally gut teams so that other owners quit out of disgust? So that eventually you'll be the only one left playing and then you just might have a chance to win it all.

Clever... :rolls eyes:

an all-CPU team could beat his right now, so I doubt that would work
