I seen the Skulls lost coming if you look at last year's regular season we lost to skulls by 2 points then we beat them in playoffs. Our gm's and owner, and all the players are at their best for strategy and game plans. We didn't even fully boost yet. When i believe the skulls have

Another good write up. You are right, following the Beavers every week does have its benefits, not only seeing how they play the opponent, which is usually a good guideline, but to have 12 games of watching there every move.
The top of our conference is very good and competitive and would have no troubles in higher leagues.

To quote xfrozenxsoulx "wow...umm shocked? ye...." This loss has spread to 3 threads on this forum already and no-one really saw it coming. Okay the Topes knocked them off in the playoffs but this is the regular season, this is the Skulls' specialty?!?! I couldn't imagine them going anything other than 16-0 this year, even with the Rahls hot on their heels... Enough shock I guess, maybe we should look at how the game actually went.
The first quarter was very close and back and forth until the Topes managed to put a drive together that resulted in a 2nd Quarter FG. The Skulls immediatly struck back with a FG. The Isotopes next drive resulted in a TD, with a great Rohn Jiggins rush and 3 Rock Slinger incompletes and a punt gave the Topes a chance to capitalise. They didn't and punted away. The Skulls came back to kick another FG before HT. The crucial point of the game was a Topes punt that dropped on the 3.5 yard line forcing a return that could only muster 8 yards. The Skulls tried to pass their way out but a False Start by John Guard on 3rd and 3.5 stalled the drive and forced a short punt that started the Topes on the 36 yard line. 1 Rohn Jiggins rush later and the Topes lead was 11. Rock Slinger managed to drive the Skulls from their 20 all the way down to the Topes 30 but Sam Foote missed the FG. The Topes immediately marched back down the field with a mix of run and pass and rushed in for a 3rd score to put the game beyond the shell-shocked Skulls. The Skulls added another TD early in the 4th but the Topes immediatley hit a FG to keep the lead at 14. The Skulls got all the way down to the 9.5 yard line passing in the 4th but a 1 yard rush on 4th down was no-where near enough and the Topes just ran out the clock.
Following this loss things can only go only 1 of 2 ways... 1. They stomp everyone else in the league out of spite and this is the year that the Skulls finally go all the way without the 16-0 hanging over them or this is a sign of things to come and the Rahls, Redskins and Beavers will push them close and may even over turn them... I'm thinking they'll still be top of the table come the end of the year.
42
San Antonio Rahls
The Rahls went untested this week as they breezed past the Lowriders. They only got a FG in the first Quarter but picked up momentum as the game went on. Fukudome Fukuyoudo still looks like the best 3rd string RB in the league after his big games vs the Lowriders and the un-gutted Aggies. The Rahls also managed to break in new RB "The Heat" who replaced outgoing F.A. Pat Thedog. Behind that O-Line, do the Rahls have the best running game in BBB#5 history? ... I think yes, and will have at least 2, if not 3 1000+ yard rushers come the end of the season.
Fort Richardson Redskins
Skins-Gunslingers would have been Game Of The Week almost any other week of the season but was overshadowed this week. It was a very close game but getting the first TD and having the extra FG made all the difference to the Redskins. Having dispatched the Gunslingers they look still very likely of being a top 4 team this year... The duo of Joe "Fastest Man" Jefferson and Thundering Beast are dangerous both running and catching out of the backfield and could be the most consistent 1-2 punch in the conference. (Oh and Orangello Bourderaux, as mentioned by yours truly in the pre-season, recorded a safety in the 4th)
Birmingham Beavers
They said they weren't looking past Ditka's Army but I hope for their sake that they were keeping at least 1 eye on the game against the Skulls the week after. Para b00n was very efficient again before sitting down and letting his back-up get on the field to close the game out, and Duke Nukum added another 2 TDs to his total... Can any FB compete with him for the Pro Bowl this season... Well maybe... The Beavers are another top team that shows this is the year of the RB, maybe the pass-heavy offence of the Skulls won't be as dominant as it once was?
San Antonio Gunslingers
The Gunslingers came back to earth with a bump this week after a fantastic return to form this season yet won't be too disheartened to have lost to the Redskins, particularly in such a close game. Disappointingly for San Antonio B though, Matt Weston looked average and Pembrooke Sunspire was held to only 1 catch. James Curbo and Crosby Tuck looked useful though (both selections of mine at KR and PR for the Pro Bowl Season 1 (2) http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=234982 )... I think the Gunslingers are another side hampered by not being run-first this season, maybe a tweak next off-season will make them unstoppable though?
Albuquerque Isotopes
May I just quote myself here for a minute regarding Rohn Jiggins "All I'm saying is that this kid is special..." and goddamn did he prove me right this week. We saw the write-up of the game up in the Skulls section but what I didn't mention was this man's 8 carry, 134 yard 2 TD performance that included this 39.5 yard display of power and pace (http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=94498&pbp_id=1839541 ) and a repeat perfomance in the 3rd quarter (http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=94498&pbp_id=1841603 )... Will Topes manage to scheme above their level to overcome the Rahls, Redskins and Beavers? (I know they're all 42, but all 42's aren't equal) I think they could do 1 or 2, but all 3 could be a push... They'll be aiming for top 4 this year, and they may just get it... especially if Rohn Jiggins keeps doing what he does.
39
Las Vegas Aces
Four 1st Quarter passing TDs meant this game was over before it began... Ironhead Cambell finally got the yards this week that his play has been deserving... A true power back, he took the limelight this week from Zo King, who also performed well. This was against the Java Monkeys though before they get too excited. If they can have another week where both RBs managed to put everything together then they can threaten the high and mighty teams in the 40's... The Aces have the all around offence with Aaron Koppinger catching balls pinged at him by Cutlers DrinkingBuddy, will it be enough to push for a top 4? I don't know, it will be enough for the playoffs though. The Aces should be experts on the Beavers by the time they meet in week 13, they're following their schedule exactly and should be scouting everyone of those games.
Raleigh Fighting Tigers
First win of the season! and in style... although it was against a gutted Aggies team. FB Handy Richardo made a name for himself this week with 20 carries for 130 yards and 3 TDs. That was added to his opening Kick-off return for a TD, all 89.5 yards of it... QB Alex Brunell went to the top of the league in passing yards with a 20/26 292.5 yd 4 TD performance. Defensive highlights were 4 sacks by DT Ronny Bullrush (Pro-Bowl snub last season) and 0 tackles for either starting safety Humble or Robins as the other 9 players stuffed the Aggies offence... Hopefully similar performances will follow until a tough Skulls game in 4 weeks time.
Miami Breakers +3
Another side that went up by 3 points overall but still lost to a team they would have hoped to beat. 2 late scores made it look more respectable, but surprisingly they actually outgained the Extreme in yards they just couldn't punch it in. The Breakers have good players, but they need more of a supporting cast before they can make an impact... Good off-season recruiting and they could be up there...
36
Austin Extreme
"I think I may have under-rated the Extreme so far. Okay they don't have any players in the lvl 20's beyond QB Koboh Wrath (who is definitely Austin's best player). But they are putting up points on decent teams and only conceding 30ish... Very respectable. I may have had a change of heart in the last minute or so... They could be the best side below the top 9... next weeks game is the decider."
I think that was the most accurate write up so far this season. Koboh Wrath proved me right, throwing for all 3 TDs (including from 0.5 yards out). They are the best side below the top 9...
Ditka's Army
Well they probably pissed Staners of... They put 10 points on his Beavers. And that's what they have to focus on... They have the Aces next week and that won't be fun. As long as they concentrate on scoring and keeping it respectable, the rebuilding will be going just fine.
Death Valley Vikings
Dawg Schroeder got another 10 tackles and CB Chester Vergara got 17... That tells us that it was another long day for the Vikings... A solid game by HB Jason Mathew was a bright spot on offence though... But these 3 players are miles above their team-mates... Without more players, the Vikings will struggle.
33
St Louis Lowriders
Another team in need of players... They still haven't scored a point all season and results are slowly getting worse... They've benched their "top" QB, I assume for refusing to re-sign and are starting a lvl 4. Another team that is looking to the future... At least the Aggies are in worse shape...
Java Monkeys +3
You know what? The monkeys are going to win a game this season... maybe even 2, maybe even 3... They have the Rahls next in their hellish start to the BBB#5 but soon they get the Aggies... Unless they have a quick turn-around under new ownership, that could be win #1. The Lowriders are definitely within their means to upset but with that game being early in the season I think it'll be tough... If it was towards the end of the year I'd chalk it up as win #2, alas not though... Doesn't mean they shouldn't try. And getting the Flames in the inter-conference week is a stroke of luck... but I think they deserve it. Very, very winnable game (barring miracualous re-build before then)...
27
Fort Worth Aggies -6
They were at the same sort of level as the Aces and the Tigers season 1, they'd really started to build well too... They would have been at least 10th this season if they'd carried on. As it is... 176 plays each for Ikatcha Tings, 53rd Man and Benji Franklin and 164 for Bustin Noggins may be reminiscent of old-scool Iron-Man football but it's not going to work in GLB... Someone is gonna have some work to do here. BBB#5 started with 2 Aggies and 2 Brawlers... Soon there will be none.
This originally started as a list of numbers, but it just grew. This is all based on opinion and memory and a quick look over rosters... No offence was intended to any of the teams. Roll on game 4!

Season (Game 4)
45
Minnesota Skulls
Normal service is resumed... The Skulls really took it to the Beavers and they came away with an impressive win. The top 5 players were all Skulls. Rock Slinger returned to form completing 16 of 24 attempts for 205.5 yards and a TD. And yet another Skulls WR took the headlines in this game a Stephen Andrews snagged 5 catches for 73 yards and 2 TDs. Willie Catcher is still their #1, but if he's covered there's always Andrews or Big Bomb for Rock to pick out. Skulls now look to another tough match against the Aces and will be hoping for and expecting, a repeat performance.
42
San Antonio Rahls
The Rahls would wish to have a more competitive game this season before the Skulls match-up to get a good idea of how their scheme is working rather than have exceptional players just crushing their opposition. The Heat had a great second game with 188 yards and 3 TDs whilst Dayel Elessedil also grabbed 3 TDs and 100+ yards. Fukudome Fukuyoudo also gained 100+ yards but failed to find the endzone. Big game from their FB, I Like Buffets who had 4 rushes for 96 yards and a TD. The Rahls will have 3 1000 yarders this season, and looking at their O-Line you can see why.
Fort Richardson Redskins
Top of the table but it's not hard to see why after the last game. It was men against boys out there. Big games from Joe "Fastest Man" Jefferson and James "Toast" Whitey were predictable against such opposition that counts 2 lvl 3 players as their Top Player Threats. This game way have padded stats but it won't have helped the team to test schemes and prepare for their tough mid-season stretch against the Topes, Beavers, Aces and Rahls. Still, a top 3 team.
Birmingham Beavers
It was a wounded Skulls. The Beavers were either going to twist the knife or feel a hefty backlash. They received the latter, although it wasn't that hefty. 24-6 is a result almost anyone would take vs. the Skulls. The big worry here for the Beavers is that their running game was severely curbed. Emmitt Smithers and Powder addict were held to 45 and 34.5 yards espectively and Duke Nukum was a non-factor. This is going to become a backlash trend as the Extreme need to expect a strong and hungry Beavers team next week.
San Antonio Gunslingers
Where's it all gone wrong for Matt Weston? Another below par performance as he tossed 2 picks before taking the bench, only to see his back-up go out and complete 5/8 for 108 yards and 2 TDs to give the Gunslingers the lead in the 4th. Crosby Tuck was the main beneficiary with 3 catches for 102 yards and 2 TDs. They were close losses to good teams, but if they're not careful... The Gunslingers could be sliding to the bottom of, and perhaps out of... The playoffs.
Albuquerque Isotopes
Somewhat more comfortable game for the Topes this week, are they already looking ahead to the Gunslingers and Redskins match-ups? These crafty folks, hiding behind a veil of hard-to spell words probably are, can it take them all the way to 16-0... I think not, I think the Rahls and the Redskins will take them, but the Beavers better look out, although perhaps, I think they prefer being the underdogs.
Rohn Jiggins WATCH: 19 car, 160.5 yards and 1 TD. (Thomas Roden had 19 car, 126 yards, 3 TDs)
Las Vegas Aces +3
Up to 42... Congrats. Unlike last weeks trend of teams going up a class but losing, the Aces celebrated with a victory over Ditka's Army. Cutlers Drinking Buddy had a big game, whilst Ironhead Cambell and Zo King seem to want to prove me wrong for heralding Joe "F.M." Jefferson and T. Beast as the best 1-2 punch in the league... I don't think the Nevada pair are there yet though. Aaron Koppinger... consistent as always. Skulls next week, good luck... Hope you've been scheming for it since game
39
Atomic Wedgies
Well... thought they should get a mention this week having snuck under the radar to defeat the higher-rated Gunslingers.
Raleigh Fighting Tigers
Not a great game this week. Conceded against the Lowriders who have been blanked the first 3 weeks running. But a win is a win and another step towards playoff contention. FB Handy Richardo followed up last weeks strong performance with 150.5 yards and 5 TDs... Could be Tigers first offensive Pro Bowler?
Miami Breakers
Had a very back and forth game against a team that they should have beaten more comfortably. I think they've recruited a couple more players now though, or the ones they had before have levelled up as they now have quiet a handy looking roster... Will be disappointed with loss to the Extreme but could still jump up and bite an unsuspecting team in the ass at some stage this season. I wouldn't take the Breakers lightly, despite early season form.
Ditka's Army +3
Up another ratings class again, the re-building IS going well. Loss is tough though but it was against the Aces though and it's the Rahls next week. Please hold of on getting your first win until after the Tigers game though. Then you'll win a couple, probably 3 straight!
36
Austin Extreme
Extreme! Extreme to the effing MAX! Well, another week, another tough team, another loss... but on the brightside, they continue to score, another 10 points this week. Koboh to Kobo yet again for the score. Don't know what to say about this teams future though? 3 agents = high chem and can make strong strategies and boost together. Maybe a couple of seasons of late boosting will make them the dominant force in BBB#5?
Death Valley Vikings
Dawg Schroeder down to 7 tackles (maybe I'm a little SS biased when looking at performances) so the Vikings must be going in the right direction. They could have upset Miami and they were winning going into the 4th. I don't know what more to suggest or say. 4 straight (42) games coming up against good teams, the Vikings just gotta ride it out.
33
St Louis Lowriders
The roster is small and got a few CPUs and 2 of their top players just left. Poor ACES came into a tough situation and there is a lot of work to do even on un-gutted teams to stay competitive in the BBB#5. Try to build for next season and get in players who understand that they'll be in for the long haul.
Java Monkeys
Welcome Wease. Building a team that is all of similar levels is a much better idea than signing a few studs and neglecting everywhere else. After the Tigers game it could turn to a couple of wins. Flathead Go Krazy is there for the taking and the Lowriders game is one to focus on. Good luck from there on out.
18
Flathead Go Krazy -9
Looks like a slow-build is the tactic here, bring in a load of low levels, cheap wages, focus on earning stadium money etc. and the low levels will go up fast with full PT in a game. It's going to be a long season, but i think that's understood with the recruiting methods...
This originally started as a list of numbers, but it just grew. This is all based on opinion and memory and a quick look over rosters... No offence was intended to any of the teams. Roll on game 5!

Season (Game 5)
45
Minnesota Skulls
The Skulls are back on track, although the game looked close the Minnesota side were leading 30-6 heading into the 4th. Another big game from Stephen Andrews with 14 rec for 154.5 yards and 3 TDs. The big test for the Skulls comes next game against their long time rivals, the Rahls.
42
San Antonio Rahls
5-0 and another comfortable game. All 3 HBs got 100+ yards and Elessedil and Heat grabbed 2 TDs apiece whilst Fukuyoudo snagged 3. Still think all 3 will hit 1000 yards this season. Have the Rahls been tested enough on their use of the AI in preparation for the Skulls game? The Tigers were closest to the Rahls this season and even that game was 34-10... It could a wake up call for the Rahls. Run vs Pass though this season, i think the Rahls could nick it, especially if Ryukir Rahl has another big game.
Fort Richardson Redskins
Top of the table and feelin fine. J "FM" J and TB both gained yards last game but weren't as explosive together as they have been so far this season, T. Beast did average over 11 yards a carry though and Joe went over 100 yards, still the pair to beat. I'm not sold on the Redskins title credentials just yet but they are looking good and don't meet the Skull til week 15. Still... the Redskins have to go through the Rahls, Aces, Beavers, Topes following their next game with the Breakers and they shouldn't be looking to far ahead.
Birmingham Beavers
And the Beavers bounce back. Para b00n came out slinging and hit 16 of 21 attempts for 149 yards and 4 TDs before ceding to Eugene Lockhart. My only question is, why the hell did the Beavers not leave him on all game vs. the Skulls? Oh well, big game from Emmitt Smithers, one of the best RBs in BBB#5 building on strong performances from last year. Nukum got another TD and Powder Addict got 100+ yards, but both aren't the same force that they were just a few games ago. Beavers still a serious playoff team, will the Topes keep them out the top 4 though?
San Antonio Gunslingers
If San Antonio had lost to the Breakers then it would have looked horrifically like last season, massively talented but under perform... They snapped the streak in style but shutting their opponents out. Their offence wasn't great though. They had to settle for 4 FGs and their sole offensive touchdown came from a 67 yard pass, they did add a PR TD to make the scoreline more emphatic though. The Gunslingers need to pull themselves up from the average if they want to make an impact in the playoffs though.
Albuquerque Isotopes
They will be disappointed to have conceded 21 to the Vikings but they scored so many so quickly that it won't be too much of a concern. Nathan Dalgord hasn't been menitoned much this season but he's been effective when called upon, a reliable, mistake free QB that isn't called upon very much to win the game... BBB#5's David Garrard? I thought of that analogy after I'd figured out the best way to describe Thomas Roden... he's Fred Taylor to Rohn Jiggin's Maurice Jones-Drew... It's not so much a 1-2 punch but 2 very useful RB's, one who reliably churns out yards on his carries and the other who grabs all the headlines. Last game: Roden: 24 car, 186 yds, 17 brktck 0 TD. Jiggins: 21 car, 228 yds, 16 brktck, 5 TDs. I think Topes = Jags makes sense, overlooked for so long but now a team in serious contention.
Las Vegas Aces
The Aces were dealt their first loss of the season by the Skulls, but it is hard to gauge where they stand this year. We'll need to see a few more games before we can say just how good they are, but they are definitely a playoff team and I would say top 6. Ironhead Cambell and Zo King were made ineffective this game but Cutlers DrinkingBuddy added 244.5 yards and 1 TD to his league leading totals. They may already be concentrating on the Gunslingers game coming up.
39
Raleigh Fighting Tigers
GEAUX TIGERS!! 3-2, but they are losing me for a week. Obviously a big blow as Robins has racked up all of 3 tackles and 2 PDs in the last 3 weeks.
Just kidding, another big week for Handy Richardo getting 88 yards on the ground and 3 rushing TDs whilst also adding a KR and PR for touchdowns from 89 and 79 yards out respectively. Could have a playoff shot this year, need to raise their game though.
Miami Breakers
There's not much to shout about the last game, they were shut-out and no-one stood out on offence. Holding the Gunslingers to FGs and 2 TDs was more impressive though and have to work on improving their offence to help and obviously talented defence.
36
Austin Extreme
Koboh Wrath slung another TD. The Extreme scored another 10 points in defeat and matched their scoreline against the Beavers to the scoreline vs the Topes. If they're late boosting this season, and maybe next then they could close the level gap and compete...
Death Valley Vikings
Well, Dawg Schroeder was back up to 13 tackles, but the Vikings are definitely improving. Their offence has built steadily since the start of the season. Vikings will be looking towards the end of their season. After the Tigers game, look for them to almost win out, or at least be very competitive in each (except maybe the Skulls game).
33
Ditka's Army -6
"Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa... Lois this is not my Batman Glass" down 6 from last week? What happened? I didn't keep an eye on the Army roster so I'm not sure what's caused the change. It'll be a shame if a couple of players have decided to jump ship from what looked to be a very successful rebuilding process... With the Lowriders, Monkeys and Krazy coming up though, they have to be very confident of winning 2 of, if not all 3 of those games.
St Louis Lowriders
The Lowriders were actually a decent outfit when we played them and they would have certainly enjoyed their first win of the season. They didn't go easy on the Krazy Gang and made sure to score every point they could. This will be a big morale boost before heading into games against the (33) Monkeys and the newly 33'd Army. Still need to recruit more humans though
Java Monkeys
We didn't want to go easy on the Monkeys yet they still managed to drive down the field and score on us. The offence is not bad, and Skeeter Calhoun is defvinitely a team leader. The rebuild is going quickly and well. The Monkeys will definitely beat the Krazy, who are content to ride it out this season with lower level players sticking together, but they could snatch another win or 2. The Lowriders, and maybe, I dunno, the Extreme? should be wary. Good luck Monkeys...
21
Flathead Just Go Krazy +3
I dunno. They're building slow... slow-building if you will. They're not expecting wins, nor are we. They know what they're doing and well, there's not much more to comment on. This season will be a write off, maybe next season too... but this team will be a challenger in the future.
