Going back to the speed/vision discussion, it depends on whether you are an SS or FS really. FSs are usually covering WRs and creating double-coverages on deep receivers (usually the speed guys on the opposite team). Also, they generally start a little further back from the LoS than the SS. Therefore it would be more important to them to have high speed, so they can cover the back-end well and get down to the play (if it goes short) quicker. SSs are typically playing closer to the LoS from the start, and they are usually only covering a TE, or helping in run-support, so they would need to be able to work out, through vision, whether they need to help take down the HB, or lock-down the TE. As the TE is slower than the WRs, speed isn't as important.

FS: Speed/agility/vision

SS: Vision/speed/agility

I think that vision should be second for a FS. They don't need to be quite as explosive as a SS because they do start farther back from the LoS.

I could make the arguement that the SS order should be:
Vision/Agility/Speed... but that order is still pretty good.

Really as long as you focus on those three you aren't going to be in bad shape at all.

I think vision is the most important skill, hands down, for a FS. The ability for the FS to see where the ball/runner is going before hand is extremely important.

It doesn't take much speed to cut off a HB or WR, but speed/agil does help if you go man-to-man. But I find my FS hangs over the top in man-to-man coverage.

Definitely soft cap vision first.

Ive got a fairly even build and led my team in tackles last season, but havent put too much on my vision. After reading this I think Im going to put all my points from here to get my vision up to 50. What does anyone have to say about maxing out the super vision special ability?

I have over 40 on my stamina because I play special teams as well. I am usualy (maybe 75%) the person making the special teams tackle and still have the stamina to play the D series. Im usually dropped down to about 70-75 stamina after any given game.

I use to play special teams as well and was in a similar position. Except we had to cut our SS because he never logged in. So I got dropped so i would be on the field more.

As far as maxing the Super Vision SA. That is what I plan to do by the end of this up coming season. First I am going to fix my agility, then most everything else I get will go toward maxing Super vision. Will be interesting to see what difference that makes. A note-- you can be a great player with 10 in Super vision, but your scouting bars will not reflect that. Keep that in mind when you see other safties.. it is not necessarily an apples to apples comparison.

The only suggestion I would have for you is that you combine all your equipment points into 1 or 2 attributes. It is a better use of your money. I would do that before lvl 24 equipment, because it is so expensive after that.

BTW what exactly is maxing out an SA? 2pts or more then that?

After 5 it goes to 3 points per SA. I am assuming that it will goto 4 points before I get to 10. Also the SA before the one you are trying to max needs to move up as well. I have to get my Swat Ball to 5 before I can bump my Super vision to 7. I have seen one build where the player had a 5 before a 9.

Not the best investment if you have other things to work on. I am curious to see how it works.

I have questions regarding Tackling (& strength) once the Wrap-up Nerf kicks in. I know that we won't really know how bad it's going to be until it happens but I have 15 SP to spend tomorrow on each player and I have to decide to soft cap agility/vision & add SAs or seriously bump tackling.

Our 4 safeties missed a joint total of 7 tackles all season in a league that totally dominated us offensively. None of those 7 lead to scores.

I'm a bit afraid how high those stats will rise to. We can't really afford to give up any more scores.

FYI here are the TKL levels of the 4:
FS: 26, 28
SS: 32, 37

My SS has only 28 strength and 30 tkl @ LVL 20 and only missed 2 tackles all season, and that came in the same game. I think agility and vision is where you want to put your points. The opportunity to create turn overs is much more valuable than a missed tackle here or there. Hows your catching and jumping?
