I know most of you are in the playoffs right now. How about an LB that isn't?
Keegan Thompson racked up 19 tackles in a 10-3 scrimmage game. Unusual for a low scoring game. http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=70855

How about the only people that can talk any smack are those that post their own rankings. Its really easy and lazy to just come in here and say that your guy is the best. So how about you post a complete list of your conference and then we will listen.

they should totally make a probowl for this game, and they should also make a world championship tournament where each country( continent ) puts together a team and battles for thw world title

Not to restir the pot, but Gio is clearly the best CB in this league. More PD's than tackles with 111 PD's and the most picks. I dont see how you say hes a "system player". I mean, what player doesnt play in a system.
Gio clearly should be the starter in the Pro Bowl.

Nobody should pass on the side he's on. He beat the Hounds last season on a pick 6 with seconds left and the score tied.

Again, while he does his job well, I just don't think he's the best. Watchin some of the game film tells me a couple things.
1. Since he plays off the receiver while the other team CBs play close, there are always gonna be way more stat-opportunity plays.
2. Since he plays off while the other CBs play close, I'd be willing to bet a significant amount of more pass yardage is completed on his CB than Gilligan.
3. I'd be willing to bet he has a relatively high strength or confidence that causes him to deflect all the passes that should already be caught. I'd say strength.
4. All these combined are prolly the strategy he's aiming for. Honestly, I don't blame him one bit. It appears to be super effective. By playing off, he draws the pass his direction more often than not. Then, by having the unusually high strength or somethin, he is able to basically slap the ball out on an otherwise sure catch. Very effective.
CB Yastuckwit Gilligan is the definition of shut-down. Except for two aberrations in the playoff game, passes aren't completed often in his direction. I think the QB in our last playoff game had a super high Pump Fake stat or something. Plus, I'd almost be willing to bet my account that many more TD passes were completed on Gio than on Gilligan during the regular season. My reasoning: our D let pass an amazingly low amount of TDs at all, ground or air.

I very well may be totally wrong but just what I see.

Trying to rationalize and understand the strategy is great, but the bottom line is he gets the job done. We could speculate on his build all day, it's not really relevant to the point. At the end of the day Gio can let his numbers do the talking (and yeah I know numbers don't really mean anything to a CB) on a pretty good team as well. He had a major impact when we played Dallas and didn't even get an interception, he was discussed post game as well and if I could tell my QB not to throw in his direction I would check that box every time. Call it what you want but I consider that shut down.

You don't have to send me your account information but from a quick scan, Gio gave up no touchdown passes this season. I didn't bother to look up Yastuckwit, but you can't really give up less than none.

I dig it.
Hell, you may be right about those TDs passes. Just kinda jumped to an assumption based more on how rediculous our D as a whole has been. I really do think it appears he plays off which supes up stats.
Gio is a badass and I'm with you all the way on that "you are what you are" reasoning. He gets the job done and well. No question there.
However! I will say that you can stat me to death but the one thing you will never take from me is my being a Homer and the Head of the Y. Gilligan Fan Club. What say you about that, eh?

Well, I say it's all good...
I wasn't trying to disrespect Gilligan either, he's an impressive corner as well. The pro bowl is great for publicity, but the real showdown will be tonight. Two teams go in, one team comes out. I think it's shaped up pretty nicely for the West and it will be an interesting game. The only sad thing is that if Austin wins, the #13 forums aren't going to be the same next season.
