Honestly, I couldn't care less about who did what. It would suck if the new owner got screwed out of the ~$1.4mm since it ruins the competitiveness of the conference (although I could use a few wins). Luckily, the admins stepped in and corrected it. End of story, time to move on.

I like how he doesnt mention how they told me over aim that I could have bonuses for all the work I did building the team, the logo, the jerseys, and signing 90% of the players to pay for my equipment upgrades that would be coming soon. You really think if I was gutting the team illegally I would have only given 100k (around the cost of lvl 24 upgrades) to my players? Only after he asked me again after the bonuses if I would leave a few players on the team to help next season and I refused did he "notice" the 100k bonuses that I "gutted" from the team. Please. Whatever, this is an owner favored game. Again the players get the shaft. Because I wasnt greedy during my time here demanding bonuses when I resigned everytime I am going to lose out because he made up a story that Thorn feed into and got back the bonuses I was TOLD I COULD HAVE.

There was no difference. I was a GM and did 90% of the player contract stuff. So I asked for it and he told me to do it. Either way it doesnt matter. I am just here to defend myself.

Alright, I spent around a season and a half with the Omaha Patriots and mikehart. While he was a somewhat nice guy, however he was not the best at managing/owning a team. mikehart was a novice at GLB and didn't really know a lot. He had good GMs though (I was a OC), but myself, Osmo, and another player ran the team. Osmo did around 90% of the recruiting (for a shitty team, which is next to impossible) and I tryed to find a way for a team 3 or 4 levels below the competition to win. It was a struggling team and couldn't seem to play well. Just Osmo was around before I arrived and he stayed after I left, he was more involved than anyone and I believe he deserves those bonuses. Did he take them without asking? I highly doubt it... but even if he did he was assuming he would receive them even if mikehart stayed because he was told this. Just my opinion, thoughts?

None of that really matters (other than the moral support of him being a good guy... but its beside the point). The point is this:

That looks bad. It doesn't matter how much was verbally agreed to, how much was promised, how many sweet nothings passed between owner and GM. Simply because none of them can be proved. Screenshots can be faked etc. And even if it was proved its still bad form to do it while on your way out. If he was owed that bonus money, he should have got it beforehand. Preferably from his owner, but I guess a midseason bonus to himself would not have gone awry if the owner was active and okayed it.
What it boils down to: When your owner promises you something, make him back it up in the form of a contract. Otherwise its just that, a promise. And that isnt worth much, more often than not.
It kinda stupid that we have to have threads on this sort of issue, I've seen them in the main GLB forums before. Theres a real easy fix for this, and its simply to only allow an owner to give/renew GM contracts. That way there is no discussion on people giving themselves big contracts and then bailing.
