Tempe for me in the late 80's was a great time. Sedona is a beautiful place. It seem enchanted. Love the vibe there.

I moved back to Phoenix from Colorado in the early 2000s, so we'll call it even lol. I still have friends in Denver. I loved it there in the early 2000s...now...not so much...still a beautiful state and love the mountains, but Denver itself has become kind of a shitshow sadly.

Looks like my early 90s high school years likely fall between your 2 timeframes (or maybe I'm closer to GroupOh since I was in college mid to late 90s). Tempe in the 90s was great. Music scene was very good but under the radar. The Refreshments, Gin Blossoms, The Pistoleros, Gas Giants, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers (he's still a local legend; I see him play every few years around AZ and down in Rocky Point, Mexico), Jimmy Eat World...I know I'm forgetting some good ones. But my personal favorite was Phunk Junkeez, who I still submit were one of the most underrated bands as they were years ahead of their time with their punk/rap/rock vibe.

Gibson's, Chuy's, Nita's Hideaway, The Bash on Ash, Long Wong's, Minder Binder's and many others were some great small venues to catch a live band.

Memories...

i worked at nitas for a few years.. the guys from jimmy eat world were in there all the time. it was a dive but they got great bands. truckers on speed, revenants... i wanna say... drunken immortals... but when i was at nitas there was so many touring bands...my memeory is coming back, after the first few years i lived there i started going to washington state for winter and summers in az... 9/11 happened and it was crazy how quiet it was there for a few days, no planes flying but that had me feeling a certain way and i decided to stay in washington permanently after that winter.... felt safer hiding out at an off the grid ski area lol...

Haha touché! I don’t really have any friends in AZ. Mothers in Sun City, so I visit occasionally…yeah I’m basically comparing Denver’s shit show with being overpopulated to AZ which I don’t think is. I was out in Scottsdale for a friends bday in September, had a blast. I do miss the falls and winters out there. I don’t ski or snowboard, so the Colorado winters are just annoying, even with me being a native, I’ve never liked them 😂

No

He just uses me for my good looks, bad dots, and terrible coordinating.

Nice! I saw Truckers on Speed at (I'm pretty sure) Long Wong's in the late 90s when I was home from college for a weekend and a buddy said "you gotta come see these guys". Good show.

Well yeah, it's 110 degrees in Phoenix in September, so no one visits and the locals all vacation in cooler areas or lock themselves inside with their air conditioning on, so it definitely doesn't feel overpopulated then. Does your "friend" hate you? XD

May have been October..It was definitely not 110 nor dead.

I don't think Phoenix is overpopulated when I did live out there lol...They all hate me

What if I use the question format?

Is it bad that there's more highlights from the parade than there is from the game?

Why would the NFL rig a game to be that bland? Would it not be in their best interest to make it as dramatic and exciting as possible?

But it was a 3-point victory with the winning kick near the end of regulation. I think human dopamine levels are so shot from the past decade or so of video clips and social media that it takes some kind of never-before-seen miracle to happen for people to get the least bit excited about anything anymore lol
