Do you mean like assigning one player to cover another, no matter where they line up? Kinda like they do in the NFL sometimes? "That's your man... you cover him all game."

Indeed. Navy always throws one helluva punch at my Irish. And to any other college team who scoffs at the idea that playing Navy is tough, I dare ya, schedule a game with them. When teams do, it's always fun watching their fans stop calling Navy a cupcake after their team plays them, coz then they finally understand.

Never went to Navy vs Notre Dame, but I've seen Navy play 8 times, including 3 Army/Navy games... Fire em up

Sim is fine. Just need players.

All I would do is send it a mass email to every email in the system before season 100 and see how many come back.

I would tone down the interceptions and maybe decrease the amount of time it takes for a defender to recover from being faked

This and maybe even increase the # of free players?

Late to the party...

1. The price is now and always has been the limiting factor. How many have quit the game, because there wife got pissed? I know of 3. I myself just got a new wife

2. Strength while passing should be a much bigger factor.

3. I hate that a 145 speed CB can keep up with a 160 speed receiver.

4. I honestly think that this game is damn good and Advertising and mass email campaign ( Missed the best opportunity during covid ) combined with cost reduction could revive the brand.

I LOVE #3. (because I build those slightly slower CB's and keep up with those fast receivers.)

#2 is a bigger factor than I think many realize... but it's very hard to quantify. Strength is what sets the penalty numbers for throw accuracy. Just like for Kickers, the stronger the player the longer the throw (or kick) can travel before accuracy penalties begin to be applied. And, I think if you could graph that it would show as a steeply inclining curve with the penalty getting worse the more distance the throw (or kick) travels. This REALLY shows on attempted long throws with young QB's as the throw can be so far off target you might not know who the QB was throwing to if it didn't tell you. I also think it's why so many believe that the Deep Passer archetype is the better one to build with. I use to think that as well but have built more Pocket style for some time simply because it's frickin hard as hell to have enough time to make deep throws anymore. Anything beyond 25 yards is more likely to be a sack before it's a throw. So Strength above 90 might seem like almost a waste.

I don't know what changes must be made but the QB with most yards in WL has 19 TDs & 30 INTs. The one with most scores has 23 Tds & 25 INTs. No one has more scores than picks except one (17-15) but this one plays in BIA so probably throws mostly screens. That's unreal! Fix it Borf!!!

They don't "keep up"

A) The QBs are forced to throw bullets so even 5 yards away the ball is at a catchable height. https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=3095973&pbp_id=843519

B) there's not a lot of 145 speed DBs in WL these days. When Ballhawk kicks in they are pushing 180 Speed.
https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=3099685&pbp_id=832575
The FS was at the hash mark at the 35 yard line. He sees the ball get thrown instantly, he then arrives at the 27 yard line, 3 yards ahead of the WR and 10 yards ahead of the ball.

C) When you can 2 man rush every passing play and always pressure the QB, you have 9 defenders in coverage against 5 targets.

D) WRs and TEs are mathematically disadvantaged with their 0.4 major ALGs

E) Everyone figured all this out 50 seasons ago, so every DB who isn't going for KLs should be rocking north of 70 catching.

==

What we're looking for is simple fixes that Bort could do easily, that the status quo won't automatically shit on. The odds of meaningful changes are close to zero.

Fwiw... There has been a suggestion thrown out there to change passing tactics

#1 Dial up thrown ball speed so that the current "Max bullet" is the baseline.

#2 remove the bullet/loft slider.

Ideally the QB would adjust his throws based on the route and distance, but since that is probably hard to code, always throwing an "average" trajectory is probably the best we're going to get.

This suggestion didn't get a lot of traction but it didn't get immediately shit down either
