That sounds right, though I think he was into decline by then.
When I go back to look at past seasons, most of the teams are no longer in existence or have changed their team name. Anyone know how to see what team they actually played for? Like the Salty Dogs, I remember playing for them, but when I look at S18 under my player's Game Log it lists the team as "TIM" and it's a dead link when I click on it.
That's a funny story. By Season 36 my interest in being an active owner was starting to wane, but I figured it would be worth making one more run at it.
So, I contacted ufshowboat about his Quarterback - Tim Freebow • http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2483970 . Freebow had won World League Offensive MVP in Season 34, while leading the Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers to the World League Title.
ufshowboat agreed to bring him to the St. John's Salty Dogs with one stipulation. I had to agree to change the name to "Tim Freebow's Salty Dogs." I changed the name, he joined the team, and he rode off into the sunset with some gaudy statistics and a team that still bears his name.
As far as Glossy Eyes, I'm not sure if he was in decline or not. In Season 17, the St. John's Salty Dogs won Canada Pro League ( http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1357531 ) and earned a promotion to World League. I had to replace both of my FS's and Glossy Eyes got the call.

Wow, great memory! Wish I could remember all those details. But I can't. Which is why it's sad GLB doesn't save it's history. Glossy was in WL back in a time when you could be an independent agent and still latch on with top teams if your build was good enough for the current sim. Even then it was hard, but shortly after it became pretty much impossible to not commit to a team from Day 1 if you wanted to play in the upper levels at final build, and I lost most interest in the game after a couple more generations of dots. But Glossy go to play with 3 different WL teams in his prime: Bonn Dynamo (where he won WL D-MVP), Nashville Hounds, and St. John's Salty Dogs. All 3 were a ton of fun, as were some other teams he played for before and after (

But, seriously, there's been some of us just having fun and experimenting with different approaches (some successful... most not so much so) to builds. So, why not have some fun? Otherwise it's just throwing money away. Wait... (looks at how much he's spent over the years)... oh.
