Indy vs. Oakland: Oakland's number one defense against the best team in WL. Indy's run game, along with a peck of passing to Peter Piper will keep the pressure on Oakland's outstanding D in what should be a lower scoring game. Jack Bauer and Lake Daddy will look to counter, yet what sticks out to me is the high interception ratio of Oakland's QB. Turnovers will be key in this battle, and while my preseason pick was for the winner of Oakland vs. MG to win the title... ah, screw it, I'll stick with Oakland in a huge upset 27 - 23
Burnside vs. Dino's: Burnside won regssn 34 - 14 and has the more balanced offense, while the Dino's run a ton and pass when they have to. When your kicker is on your team's home page as one of the biggest threats - and both teams do - it usually means a lot of FGs instead of TDs. Twinkle Toes, Stagger Lee and Daron Jones lead the Bandits multi-faceted O, while a bunch of dinosaurs with real long names along with rQB Dark Starr lead the Dino's. This one is hard to pick - do I take the sexy pick or playoff experience? So, I flipped a coin... and it landed on edge... so I'm going with Bort's spread preset and the Bandits 31 - 30.
Speaking of QBs, not sure why Dino's have a WR in their starting QB slot - is that just to lower your scouting report? He doesn't do anything from that slot. Also noticed that each match up has one team with an outstanding rush QB (Indy has one, but he's riding the pines with fumbling woes), it'll be interesting to see how they affect the outcomes.
After scouting every teams offense (yeah, my team's are out of playoffs and I have too much time on my hands) I have a good idea of what's coming - which DCs will stop the opposing team's bread and butter? Which OCs will spice it up and go outside the box? Gotta believe there will be wrinkles on both sides of the ball.
