yup, which is what most people do in order to create a high speed dot who can still cut on a dime.

Agree.

Quick Cut is always on. First Step is a chance fire but it fires pretty often. There really isn't an equivalent agility for first step. First Step provides an instant speed bonus that no (possible) amount of agility to speed is going to provide you.

Ditto.

bahll43, I'll be honest with you so far my best CB I went agi first

150 speed
100 agility

and it worked a lot better than 155/95. he was able to close the gap quickly after a fake or cut. his target/reception allwed ratio was better than any of my other speed CBs. Nothing to do with TEs or offensive players (they arent really getting faked) but on defense I like high agility

This would work as well... you'd still want 1st step though (IMO) just for that instant burst off the line. (edited for my own stupidity. )

You are talking about a much different position skill wise. You are also afforded to do so because of .5 ALG's over .4 ALG's. This thread is about TE's and WR's. The advice I have given was for exactly that.

That's nice to know, but not really moving the conversation forward with regards to the OP.

150 to 100 is not acceleration- period. Top speed v route maybe but 140 or 30 to 110 or 20 get more acceleration

Te builds are heavy and tall balance and route aside, they break slow and move in the lane. Speed kills without agi because that can't max the route. Agi gets there and helps em move

Any other thoughts on this topic--I'm sorry I missed it when it was first active.

No, agility and speed are both factors in acceleration.

No, Bort coded it so that First Step allows you to exceed your natural maximum speed.

Bort confirmed that when a CB fails to stay with a receiver making a cut, it is a failed vision check. Agility does affect how much speed you lose when making a cut and then accelerating back up to top speed.
