MY GUESS is that in GLB's earlier days it was more necessary to communicate directly with users as part of the development process. The same way that, after GLB2's release he was posting in the forums over there because more back-and-forth was needed finding/fixing bugs, etc. And we're still finding bugs and tweaking things over there. In GLB1, things are stable enough that there's less that requires his direct day-to-day attention. Again, that's just my guess.

I'm sorry if you're not getting the attention you feel you're owed, but I'm still not clear on this point - what specifically do you need to talk to Bort about, or to hear straight from Bort?

Did he used to do these things? Like, used to try to touch base with the users? So when he is absent, people might wonder why? And then when they ask why, and he cannot be bothered to take the 2 minutes it might take to just say "hi, I'm alive" or even "fuck you guys, just stop logging in so I can kill this pig"......... and he still doesn't chime in, that they might think that the sky is falling? Or are you that clueless.

You see, usually when you own a business and you provide something that is perceived as "included" (ie, a free cup of coffee, or some Q&A time on your game web site), and then you take that freeby away, your customers all feel like they are now getting a little bit less for their money. Most times, it really isn't anything big, just a gesture that shows you care about those people who are in fact providing you your livelihood. It has nothing to do with stroking anyone's epeen (the only peeps here that seem interested in that are you try-hards TBH). It has to do with caring about your business, and those who you have sold to (and hope to sell to AGAIN if I have to spell it out to you dolts).

I have a question for you Euchrid....... do you really think that he is avoiding the forums so people like me won't bash his business sense, or do you think he is being bashed for his lack of effort and being out of touch? Seems the answer to that is pretty rhetorical, right? People used to call him this great "coder", yet the problems that he couldn't manage to fix had fixes provided pretty much free of charge by the paying users. The testers, and bugs team were not paid, and put in tons of hours of work. Was it more than Bert himself put in? Did we as users always care more? I can't answer that with anything more than opinion and impression, you might be able to though. The lack of options and site goodies that someone who was this "great coder" might have provided on the front end were again added via GM scripts written by users, not the devs. Also, not paid....... Bort & Co. certainly reaped the benefits though.

INterestingly enough, the only guy that I know of that was actually "on the payroll" was Catch22. And that dude, for right or wrong, got shit done. He held Bort's feet to the fire on certain issues to get them fixed. He added to the game. I know some don't like him or the way he outed everyone on the way out the door, but it seemed for a good long time that he was actually "working" on things........ imagine if everyone in the building were doing the same. We could have the game that we all wanted....... and all paid for.

Now if this was a $19.99 retail game and was lacking or unsupported, well then it is what it is....... no big loss. But when people have put in hundreds of dollars a year, they expect things, no? Or maybe they shouldn't expect things......

The only reason we make you laugh is because you are obviously high as a kite. Everything you have said here is 100% naive bs.

So let me get this straight. The dude is WAY too busy to take literally 5 or 10 minutes a week to post in the forums....... of his own game....... that he makes money from.......

I'm simply not buying that.

Also, we are to believe that he is working on GLB2 (the turd) or "other projects". Pretty sure that the user base for GLB1 is still bigger, but they certainly are more dedicated at this point. Why is it that all of you paid apologists always say "He's too busy" and expect the rest of us to believe that.

I own 2 businesses. I work 60+ hours a week, and most of the hours I'm not actually physically at work, I'm thinking about work, planning for/about work, fielding phone calls/texts about employees and their laundry list of bullshit, etc. Yet, I manage to log in here daily, game plan, train players, troll the forums. I can 100% guarantee you that Bert is not as busy as I am....... or as most of the user base is here in fact. It is probably why so many people are passionate about it, and constantly ask where the "working man" is. This is our pass-time, a game for fun that we all enjoy to one degree or another. A few minutes of the guy's time is really NOT too much to ask, even though you'll probably try to apologize your way around this fact as well......

Lets just dismiss this "he's too busy" notion for what it is....... 100% bullshit. At least be honest and either say

1) he is entirely too lazy

2) he lost his password, and is way too inept to even figure a work around to get into his own site, and is embarrassed to say so

This post is awesome. I'm fapping to it right now.

You truly must be dense. If you really think I need to "talk" to Bort, then you have not read a single thing that I have posted for comprehension.

All right, then what are we talking about? More frequent Announcements? Another Q+A session? Again, if there's no 'news' about GLB1 and you don't want to hear about GLB2 or other projects, what specifically are you looking for from Bort?

Wow... thought....

Subscription option. NOT TO REPLACE FLEX, but to add to the options available. I wouldn't mind paying $35 US a year to make up to 5 dots with boosts and CE, and own up to 3 teams.

For lots of new folks this might be a much more affordable option, and allow them to play with builds without "loss" of flex via retirement of the dots.
