Most of us dislike GLB 2 but try it out any ways.
I tried it. I built a player and invested quite a few flex points to build him up. I realized that I didn't enjoy it so I retired him and got like 300 flex points back! Seriously? Pretty much made up my mind to not build another player in that game again.
For me, what is killing this game are effective levels. Back in the early days of GLB, you would see all kinds of builds and some of them worked and others did not. However, it got agents to think creatively about how to build a player and it was interesting. With effective levels, there is a cookie-cutter approach to building a player. There is one way to build a specific archetype and while there can be small variables, if you want the maximum effective builds to attract the really successful teams, you build your player one way. It's just boring to build a player now with effective levels.
