I used to play a game called WWII Online. May have a different name now. It was the best online game of its era by far, but they were too slow at fixing some of the bugs and it got really annoying watching the same guys defeat your side because of known cheats.
That was years ago though, so I'm sure they've got new known cheats, er I mean fixes, by now.

I use to play regular ole RPGs back in the 80's and 90's. Boy, they had some sweet games back then.

Dragon Grinder? I used to love games like that, but now the idea of grinding for seven levels before I can go anywhere (and needing to stay at the inn every three battles) doesn't interest me.
For me it was the SNES/N64 and PS1/PS2 that had the best RPGS (though I think the GBA had a whole bunch that I never got to play).
FFIV through XII + Tactics were sweet.
That was the peak of the JRPG imo.

As to the OP, no other MMOs.
I mostly prefer single player games because they work with my schedule.
I remember back in 2000 my buddy was really into Halflife and Team Fortress (I actually don't know where the two differed or when he switched from playing one to the other), but he would plan his days around his clan's gaming needs.
Funny thing was, he was an actor and an athlete. Outside of his computer he was well liked and had a magnetic personality. Then he broke up with a girl (that we as his friends all liked) because she couldn't deal with his gaming addiction and how he spent all of his money buying computer parts to upgrade his computer to keep up with the games (and back then, I'm not sure how many of you are old enough to remember, but that was when it seemed like every six months computer speeds were increasing by double, and prices for stuff like RAM was unbelievable).

One of my best friends had a similar issue with World of Warcraft.
i have never played WoW. from what i know about it i would have been hopelessly hooked thou, but at its peak i was too busy with other life stuff so i just never started playing.

I played it near the beginning, got one character to 60, and then quit. I enjoyed it, but to really do anything took a level of commitment that turned me off.

It's probably worth a play through with one character.
After that the game becomes pretty lame.
