Haha, well, I am a novice to this game, so I might not know the pros and cons (or perhaps only cons) of seeing humanoids on the field instead of dots. I guess I just like how the graphics in GLB2 makes it visually obvious if a receiver drops the ball or catches it (at least as far as I can tell), but again, I may just not know the benefits of dots yet.

i was enticed back with the hopes that 2 would be something but it seems like a lot less of a coordinator's game than classic. That's fine but I like the x's and o's of classic. i was going to come back here since i have 2 free players but there doesn't seem to be a lot going on compared to the old days. i think i'll make a couple of dots next season and maybe a bot or two down the road. ive had a lot of fun here over the years

GLB2 actually has some competition outside of 8 days in the season.

It's not WGGs fault y'all are running computers from 1999.

GLB Classic holds a bit higher barrier to get into. Great player building consists a certain patterns of training and SP application. I would definitely read up and ask a lot of questions during your building process as it is quite easy to hinder a player and it is a long process of over a year before you hit plateau. I would probably even suggest trying the peewee leagues to get a grip on the game while reading up on good strategies to build a player from Rookie to Pro. As far as AI's go it is another barrier albeit with far more control. You can go pretty in depth with it and since it doesn't cost anything at all to do it is more the trial and error game you can pull with it. There are also DC and OC forums to help smooth that transition if you are interested one of us can surely direct you to the right people and places.

GLB2 offers a much easier barrier but a bit more hectic of an interface. The skills are well labeled and there aren't ALG's so you can apply SP as you get it rather than build a mathematical strategy around when and where to apply your Skill points. The AI's are pretty casual but still offer similar strategy.

Visually it really is a matter of perspective. A lot of people are visually used to the dot players. They are clean and precise. But the players in GLB2 actually show you the entire picture of what is going on though. Also all the signature abilities in GLB2 show on field when they are working. In GLB1 some do and some don't. None of the VA's show when they work in GLB1 either. So you are always largely trusting that things work without really knowing. Many of them are obvious though.

The best part? You can give both a try under no expense to an extent. I play both and find enjoyable parts in each game. This isn't xbox vs. sony. They are both fun games.

GLB1's dots certainly have their limitations, but if you're ever confused about what happened on a play, just start by reading the text at the top, since that tells you specifically what happened. Takes a little getting used to, but it's pretty easy to get used to.

I'm a novice too and I play both without any complaints. I like the design of GLB2. I don't own a team yet so I can't speak to that side of the game but as a fairly casual player I got nothing bad to say yet.

Well I like to say that I have had a unique experience with GLB2. I have tried to access it from all of the various web browsers and found that it optimally works on internet explorer on a computer. I have also tried using internet explorer on the windows phone and it is just as bad as Firefox and chrome. When you try the game on a platform that is not internet explorer, you will have trouble using the skill points page, and accessing and watching replays.

When everything is working it has been fine. You get plenty of opportunities to see your players play. If you can see past the quality of the bots, you can see all formations and identify coverage schemes.I have been fortunate to have a player that has kept my interest in the game. He was the leading tackler of a playoff team. That same team was in a playoff race and won their place on a last minute TD in a win or go home game.

Still its brief month and a half the game has some major issues that need ironing out. So far I seen sacks not count for tackles. Fumbles of the snap from QBs at its inception and contract issues as the lingering problems that plague this game. These things that many of us have encountered can be discouraging to the current customers and make them reticent to recommend the game to future users.

I have only really went through this experience to test it out. So far I have seen some good and bad things. If you have not tried the game it I recommend you do one go through with the game. If it is essentially bad now then how much worse can it be. Since it is still early in the game, I still believe there is room to improve. I remember when GLB1 had some issues that needed to be fixed like the consistent dropping energy bar. I hope this review gave some insight to many of you.

THINGS I HATE ABOUT GLB2

- The awful, confusing, cluttered, headache-inducing site design, fonts, sizes and colors.

- Coordinating has been nerfed to hell... I understand wanting to simplify things, but they took it way too far, and coordinating is what I have the most fun doing in GLB1. By taking away so many choices and options in GLB2, they also took away most of the potential for personality and creativity in gameplanning in GLB2.

- Replays are SLOW AS FUCK to load. They're damned-near impossible to watch on my machine at home. They load better on the new top-of-the-line computers I can use at work, but they're still pretty slow. And since I can't watch any replays, that means the only thing I like about GLB2 -- player-building -- is pointless, since I won't be able to actually watch my bot do anything.

Almost forgot...

- The fact that so damn many GLB1 players have abandoned GLB1 to go play GLB2, splitting the userbase and making it more difficult for either game to remain viable. If GLB1 dies off completely, I won't have anything to jump to, because I cannot play GLB2 in its current state. And that bugs me the most of all.

agree 100%, especially about the whole look and feel of GLB2. It looks like it was designed to be used primarily from a smart phone--if you try to view it from a normal desktop or notebook screen everything is distorted and goofy. If I go from GLB1 to GLB2 i have to change the zoom settings on my browser every time--pain in the ass.

i'm also bummed that the conversion to 2 games broke 80% of the greasemonkey scripts that made GLB1 better.

lol, you obviously haven't tried to access GLB2 on the phone

and why are you bitching about something that takes a little effort and some basic computer know how to fix?

any game but another football game.

I'd love to hear the business reasoning behind this decision
