Agreed. Have suggested before to incorporate the VPB into GLB1. My idea, is to let people insta build but get off the ride at any 40 day increment they want. If they want to take the dot to day 80 or 120 let them and the VPB calcs the flex you must pay. If they want to take it to level 73, day 280, day 48, let them and let them pay.
You'd end up making the insta crowd happy. The people that enjoy the slower 7 season approach would still have that option. The result would be lesser number of lower tier leagues. But those leagues would allow newbies to get experience building. The slow build crowd would develop rivalries in the now condensed leagues and slow built dots and teams would have more chances for trophies and championships. If you built and insta dot you'd be basically giving up a shot at the HOF rankings. So customers would have a choice. From a Bort standpoint, you'd be giving your customers something they want (horrible business idea - I know) and you'd actually have people volunteering to burn their flex more quickly and being happy about it instead of them complaining about the cost of GLB1 vs GLB2.
