That will never get a straight answer

I agree with you completely, which is what makes that such a simple response to a customer question that would take two seconds from someone from GLB to answer.

But again, we do not know for sure what the plan is.

But if they are still testing how can they answer the question?

The question is "how close are we," as in, will it happen during the next season

The answer, according to you, which is completely unofficial, is "not close, still in testing"

So the answer to the customer's question, according to you, is "It will not happen during the next season"

So that's how they can answer the question

Based on the rate of changes, I can't imagine it not happening next season.

Considering the fact that the games are linked, and this is just my opinion here as a longtime paying customer, if the new game is going to start up during the next GLB "Classic" season, this information should be provided prior to entering this offseason.

Here's my reasoning:
If you want the new game to be a success, you want people to be able to take flex from this game and put it into the new game. This means people who would rather invest in GLB2 than GLB Classic will have the option to free up flex for the new game's kickoff, rather than forcing them to choose between missing out on the new game and purchasing flex to get involved.

To paint your customers into a corner of having to make a purchase to be involved in the inaugural season by not providing this information to them in a timely manner would be a short-sighted and not customer-friendly way of introducing the new game.

Will it make them some money? Sure. But it will also create a smaller userbase of people who get sucked into the game based on the excitement of being involved in its rollout.

The smart, business-savvy move would be to roll out the game after the next Classic season, but to use the upcoming season to promote the rollout date and build excitement. And also to reassure your longtime customers who are about to invest their flex in another season of Classic that they will still be able to be involved in the new game's rollout.

i dont really see it mattering whether they roll it out mid glb classic season or not. if you are planning on making an exit to glb classic for glb2 you likely arent boosting another season in classic.

Are there really a bunch of people who are currently playing 1 and planning on completely ditching 1 and going all in with 2 right away? That is not at all the sentiment I get talking with the agents/teams I am associated with. I am in complete agreement with haole's thoughts on this issue.

Most agents that I have talked to are more likely to try a player or two first to get a feel for the game before making a major move.

Most seem willing to let their commitments here play out before making the jump -- since we already paid for X number of seasons, may as well stick around until the free seasons.

But those may not be the norm -- We have stayed together for 14 seasons with very little turnover.

The only reason you would need to have GLB2 roll out in an offseason for GLB Classic is to retire your plateau'd players to make room for GLB2 players. Not sure why that equates to smart business decision.

Not rollout in offseason. Just have the information on the release date available by the start of the offseason. We are setting up rookie rosters right now. Owners and gms are recruiting for their teams that they still care greatly about and want to keep going. If you turn those customers off by causing an unexpected loss of players from agents who find out after they have said "yes" to either making new dots or keeping their current dots active you have set up yet another round of rage quits. From both sides. Either you are pissing off the agents who would have dedicated more flex to making dots for 2 because they don't want to break commitments to people they have know here for quite some time, or you're pissing off the people who plan on continuing to pay to play here by undercutting their recruiting at the last minute when they may not have time to recover.

Just give us a little heads up. Doesn't seem like too much to ask.
