ILOF and UGLB were very successful user ran drafts.
The game hasn't changed in the aspect where it would affect a draft in a negative way.

There was never wide-scale participation nor could there be.

But what is the point? You may as well just auto draft people to teams. There is no point to go through the whole debacle of making a draft when you know almost nothing about the players you are drafting. This isn't like back in s8 or so when you had the chance to draft Jedi Knight or Larry Csonka. This is an era where you are just drafting random HB1 or random HB2.

Now for GLB 2.0 this might make more sense in the fact that there are superstars added into the mix and some people might have a better build at a position than others which will be more clear after a couple seasons of playing over there.

Around 50 teams and around 1000 players entering the draft each season suggests wide-scale participation

That's a drop in the bucket, even considering todays level of participation.

They were never official drafts and only promoted in a few forums.
Yet a decent turnout overall that helped alot of teams and agents.
The draft stuff leading up to draft day is what most found exciting.
Now that the userbase has dwindled done a draft seems useful especially for the newer user.

Haha let me clear that up a bit....newer user meaning someone lookin to learn the ropes from more seasoned vets on a human rookie or pee wee team.
The draft itself would mostly serve a purpose at the higher levels.

a no from me because just being totally honest. I wouldn't want one of my players drafted by some dumbass that doesn't know how to run a team. and furthermore you would run the chance of being put on teams with a bunch of crappy dot builders. and if that happened it lessens the chance a good build dot can have success. I pay to build my players and it costs a decent amount of money. so if GLB went to a draft where I couldn't pick and choose where my money was being used. then I would log off and not come back.

if GLB wanted to give everyone a free player and that player was designated as a draft participant then I would do that. but if I am paying for the dot. there is no chance in hell of me doing it.

also I find this hilarious that Dahman the biggest crybaby on the game has teamed up with Team Nucleus. hell all you guys need now is Yello1 and you all are golden.

well now you are grasping at straws. I am not Eli Manning and I don't want my players playing for a bunch of owners that don't know the difference between their butt and a hole in the ground.
