Secondly, Catch, Bort, et al already do a good job of protecting what they've achieved--they (eventually) reject crackpot ideas that would undermine what already works. This particular thread is just a not-really-disguised reaction to the "change shopping" thread that was locked. The suggestion in that thread was terrible and displayed a lack of understanding of how "games of chance" work. I'm glad bad ideas are (eventually) identified as bad ideas and shut down rather than any pretense of a "expandable vision" being thrown about.

OK, now that we have that out of the way.

I am not here to undermine anything. I LOVE GLB and can see this game being much bigger than anything else in the Football sim arena.

Granted there are plenty of stupid suggestions, that just don't do anything to excite the user base and provide a rabid draw. However, there are also plenty of great suggestions that are dismissed as NGTH, because we don't want to put any effort into that, even thou that is really cool and most users would like to have this feature. Shake things up every ten seasons, redo training aspects, building players, add new archetypes, whatever. Everytime they made a change like this is caused such a buzz and everyone scrambles to figure it out and keeps it fresh. Push the limits. Lets have a blast and make GLB as awesome as possible.

4) Do the developers feel the suggestion works with their vision of the game


Do you jump because your users say jump? You're "alienating" your clients' wishes after all.

Through 7 pages no anyone said "no", because upgrade EQ is mutual pain in GLB.

But Bort just use his thought to reject that.
So in this criteria, 1~3 not important.
It always what Bort thought is important.

What I would like to see, actually, is more input (suggestions) from the employees. While it's good that they seek our advice for things to improve the game, I only rarely see an employee post a suggestion. It does happen (Chysil did the most recent one)... but rarely. It's good that they come in and support OUR suggestions as well. That they do well enough. But I've always felt that, beyond the builder of the company, the next most knowledgeable are those that have their hands on the innards of the company. Your customers can tell you a lot, for sure. But so can your employees. Other than that, I think GLB does about as well as most other companies out there... better than some (like facebroke)... and probably worse than others (microsoft?)... but surely not horrible.

Mod isn't GLB's employee.
They are GLB's customer as us.
