Ask these guys.

Just FWIW, Hedgehogs led WL S34 with ~30 INTs, led NAPL last season with 50 INTs (along with the USA DMVP CB) and is going to lead NAPL again this season (On pace for ~56 INTs and currently a different CB is leading the DMVP race).

50 catching and aggressive can get you 10+ INTs in pre-plateau leagues. When you start facing decent plateau QBs it takes a lot more catching because they have crazy +pass quality% bonuses and 10 Tight Spiral, etc.

Fwiw to my knowledge, you NEED to be on aggressive if you are serious about INTs, since your defender will only really try for untipped INTs on aggro. I imagine they still get an INT role on other settings, but since your CB is going to the optimal spot for a PD rather than for an INT, you are basically destroying your success.

Funfact though, any defender can get rando INTs on balls deflected by other players, since the deflection basically destroys pass quality, making the INT a possibility (though this is too rare a thing to count on of course). Just saying when a 22 catching LBer gets a random pick, (or a safety in double coverage) this is normally your ticket.

The most important variable isn't the amount of catching but the quality of the competition. Any half-decent CB with 50+ catching can pull down a good number of INTs, maybe even 10+ in a lower reg pro league. A really top of the line INT CB can pull down 40+ in reg pro. But take those two CBs to WL and the decent CB will be lucky to get 2-3 and the INT build might get 10 depending on RNG. If you want INTs, just play in reg pro.

Quality of competition has a large effect I agree. Though once you get into higher leagues, your big factors (outside of the CB himself) are...

1. QB Pressure
2. Offensive Routes
3. Defensive positioning.

*For CBs.

Fwiw based on bort quotes I'd agree that the 2nd INT% is probably better than a piece of catch%.

With that said, mobber has two very good INT CBs with a cb% piece, so there may be more than meets the eye with bort quotes here, though obviously there are other factors in the builds and defense at play.

Half Acre Chicagolopolis: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2534479
S33 #2 in USA with 11 INTs
S34 led WL Alpha with 9 INTs (made lolWLProbowl as well)
S35 #2 in USA with 13 INTs (was 3rd in DMVP)

Haymarket CHicagolopolis: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2544289
S33 #3 in USA with 10 INTs
S34 6 INTs in WL
S35 6 INTs in USA
S36 Currently has 8 INTs in only 22 targets, lolwut

BTW mobber, your CBs are in pace for a combined career high 32 INTs despite the overabundance of INT CBs on the Hedgehogs so stop complaining.

You out-picked us in exactly 1 out of 3 scrims and are 2-1 in scrims vs us. Not sure what linking 1 game where you guys had 1 INT and Hedgehogs had 0 has to do with anything.

Obviously tagging to get correct pass rush personnel out there is particularly helpful for INTs ldo.

But regardless, sample size obv. In our 3 other scrims today we combined for 12 INTs. Meh. Our last 3 scrims vs WL teams were a 3-INT game vs Gold Coast, 3 INT game vs Swat City, 1 INT game vs Steel City and 9 INT game vs South Side Mafia.

Including your game that is 16 INTs in our last 5 scrims vs WL teams. If you are trying to prove that you're 1 INT CB is better at intercepting than our whole team, obviously you are being ridiculous. If that isn't what you are trying to say, idk what you are talking about ez...

I also like how Chicago always claims they didn't tag when they lose a scrim, especially when it's a team they already played several times and clearly tagged earlier. You think they'd realize that the tags don't mysteriously disappear between games.

Odessa is leading WL in INTs by 7 and Not a Yes Man is leading WL in INTs by 5. He already has 8 INTs over 5 games. He chose a piece of SH over a second piece of INT% or CB%. Obviously that means SH is the best route to go.

Need more agility to get around those large round dots and get to the ball. side to side movement reacting quickly to the pass requires agility. cb dont need 160 speed in a cover 2. agility is so fun.

You know, this is a good point about pass quality on deflected passes. Deflection INTs are rare, true, but I think the lowered PQ helps them to happen more than most people think. Both for the occasional low-catching LB pick scenario as you as mentioned, and even more often if the defender is solid in the catching attribute.
