I think the one purpose networks serve is they provide the semblance of stability to a team. There is less turnover at the end of every season and most likely very little if any turnover among coordinators. Finding a new and competent OC/DC can be a challenge, especially when your's goes AWOL on day -3.

Seriously. Define it.

I consider myself to be independent. I've been invited to join several coalitions and have turned them down, nor have I ever set out to create or run one myself.

Yet I've been told by others before that I do, in fact, run a de-facto coalition. I have a core group of friends here in the game who always stand ready to build dots for me, some of whom are pretty well-connected in-game. I currently run 2 teams in the same age group. And I'm loosely connected to a couple of more-formally defined coalitions. In the minds of some people on here, I'm running a coalition, even though I would never in a million years consider it to be one.

So, define "coalition" please.

There's a huge difference between an independent that has a lot of in-game friends and a network/coalition. I'm the former. I have friends that may create or sign a dot with one of my teams and not any of my other teams. There also isn't a web or cloud of teams that share coordinators nor do I have any kind of structural form with any other teams. I may set up a couple of farm teams but that's still an independent franchise imo. Kind of like MLB.

I'm in Dub J's coalition. We usually last anywhere from 20 days to a couple of seasons. I'm good with that.

Many of the agents I know hate going out into the FA forum because GLB owners are like a box of chocolates....... A Network provides a warm, safe and loving place to place their dots. Until their network ticks them off and they go find another one anyway.

meh

I hear about all these supposed bad owners. I've really not ran into one in many, many seasons. Now that dots get max XP regardless and equipment is free the issue of bad owners seem to have gone away. What most consider a "bad owner" now is really subjective. I've actually had a couple of shit agents accuse me of being a bad owner simply because I only posted a tactics thread at the beginning of the regular season rather than re-posting the same tactics every 2 days for each individual game.

I still enjoy meeting new users through using the FA market. Signing the same people all the time season after season sounds boring.

I've been told I wasn't good enough for a couple that should have actually been begging me to join them, tbh.

People invite me into coalitions with the purpose of helping out. I provide my help, then they get offended and kick me out. Runs in a pretty regular cycle. I figure I'm due to get the boot from the most recent coalition in by this coming offseason.

On a different note, being part of a coalition does make it easier to find people to build dots for new teams, and to find homes for potential FA dots, without having to go through all the grandstanding that is the PLFT forum.

I knew that the thread would be trolled and not much of any useful info would come from the thread.

Mods you might as well lock this one up since it is clear that nothing useful is going to come from this thread.
