Sure if they are on passive I don't mind that they play passive at all.

Pass rush aggressiveness should stay outside the OT and contain. As you claim it's working why would anyone want their DE to pause and do nothing for 2 seconds before rushing the QB. This doesn't help screen or run or pass rush

If you read what I said, you'd know that I actually agree with you. Just because something doesn't work the way I think it should work doesn't mean it doesn't work the way Bort thinks it should work. Sadly its something that happens frequently (and is part of the reason Bugs Mods get a bad rep...we're simply repeating what has been said previously whether we agree or not).

you always have a tough D .....

... an OC should be able to run wk screens on that alignment all day ... the str side D might have a little better chance ...

look at how the DT doesn't even move for about 14 clicks ... might as well use a 3 man frt if the dt is going to take the play off

I suspect the RDE is on the less aggressive side of the spectrum. If pas rush aggressiveness worked the way most people hoped the RDE would've gone more outside once he read screen instead of just sitting there for a couple ticks and then continuing on to rush the passer.

Again, the pause is not related to pass rush aggressiveness. When DEs actually do read a screen (which does happen once in a blue moon), they quit pursuing the QB and instead go after the screen recipient. The problem isn't what pass rush aggressiveness or passivity does, but rather that the setting doesn't appear to significantly affect the chance of the DE reading the screen.

I appreciate the execution of the screen by even the lower lvl dots ....

and I have to appreciate the execution of all the dots as they are built to perform ...

.... but here and in RL, not too many DE's will detect and defeat a screen unless they are set to do so ... that would be the KEY in GLB .... set to make the play ... occasionally from the blitz , they might chase one down from behind ....

...... if you want them to stop the screen you have to not set them to blitz .... or , they have to see the screen often enough that they "learn" diagnose that play quicker ... and that does happen ... more vis (as previously stated by others) helps them think quicker ...

one thing that can be done to counter the screen is to set the de to cover the under middle , wk or str , fifth or fourth .... I'm not saying this will work for everyone ....

Looks to me like the DE waits for the ball to be thrown before he pursues the QB.

I personally think it should be equally as hard for a RB with less than 68 catching to catch a screen pass as it is for a DE with less than 68 vision to react to the screen pass. But that's just me.

68 catching is asking way too much for a pretty simple task, but 8 catching HBs shouldn't be as successful at it as they are.

Total brain fart. Apparently I forgot what GLB screens look like.

Those numbers were for the sake of comparison.
