He was probably doing what I do (see above): assuming that most of his PMs and offers will be ignored or rejected. Because most PMs and offers are ignored or rejected.

When I PM an agent to recruit them, I have no way of knowing if they're going to respond or not. If I send out 5 PMs, and one of them replies 10 minutes later with "Sure!", I'm going to grab that dot. I'm not going to sit around and wait for replies to come in on the other 4 PMs... the most likely outcome there is that the other 4 PMs go unread and ignored, while the first guy gets tired of waiting for me and signs his dot with another team instead.

No, I'm going to grab that first dot that accepted my offer. I don't think that makes me an asshole... I think that makes me an effective recruiter. I'll certainly be polite if someone else replies later and also says "Sure," but they need to understand that things move fast during recruiting season.

If you've only sent out 15 PMs for ALL of your recruiting, you're DEFINITELY doin' it wrong.

EDIT: Also, if your writing style in those PMs is the same as your writing style in the forums, you're in trouble. In the forums, you write like... well... like a poorly-educated hyper-active 17-year-old. You'd be amazed what following proper rules of spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation can do to make you seem more mature, and people hesitate to commit their dots to immature owners.

Majority of the biggest dickholes on GLB have 2 or 3 teams.

I didn't say people don't sign their dots to immature owners... I said they hesitate to.

Notice there's a common theme to all of my advice: all of it is about improving your odds. And the biggest advice of all is to get as many hooks in the water as possible.

Seriously, if you've seriously only sent out a grand total of 15 PMs for ALL of your recruiting, that's just not enough. Hell, that's often not enough PMs just to fill a single opening.

Think bigger.

I'm telling you, sending PMs is a waste of time. It's good for getting that one superstar dot you're after. As a rule, you're just pissing in the wind sending out PMs.

A long time ago when this game was newish, PMs worked. Now that pretty much anyone that knows how to build a dot knows what to look for in a team PMs are useless. When I have a FA I tell people not to send me PMs but rather just send an offer and I'll look at their team. Most people I know have that approach.

"Don't send me some bullshit about your team via PM. Just send the offer and let me look things over."

Think bigger.

Neeed like 7 dots, contacted 15 agents. Probably closer to 30 PMs.
Many agents have more then 1 dot needed

Just not enough good dots in PLFT and marketplace to send more

What agents look at:

1- Who is the owner.
2- Who are the GMs.
3- What league is the team in.
4- How did they do last season.
5- How many dots are already at my position.
